The Olympic rings placed on the Eiffel Tower since June were removed early Friday, although the Paris City Hall hopes to replace them with a more permanent structure until 2028.

I mean, obviously? It’s over. You don’t leave your Christmas decorations up until next time 'round either.

My Halloween decorations are still up from last year.

We already told you, the years old cobwebs are not a Halloween decoration

Can I come live with you?

If you can make it through the labyrinth filled with fog machines, strobe lights, and swinging sickles at neck height, yes

I shall enter the lair.

You encounter a black cat just inside the entrance to the labyrinth

I pat the cat on the head and tell it “boo”. It pees on my foot and I move toward the red and orange lights, slightly sweating as the room has a comforting stench and warmth.

The cat jumps up the side of the jagged rock wall and sits on a stone that slowly depresses. As it does, the lights go out. Its now pitch black.

You can hear the meows of the cat fade behind you, and the slow drip-drip of falling liquid in front of you.

I roll initiative

Wasn’t that obvious? It would be crazy to keep them for other 4 years

Well, the tower was also supposed to be temporary and yet, it’s still there 137 years later.

They should have kept them there, like badges. Collected more and gotten totally blinged out. It should have a badge for WWII.

Apparently we have the Nazis to thank (?) for that. It was going to be pulled down but it made a very good radio transmitter antenna, so it stayed up

Thanks, nazis!

I’d rather keep the rings and remove Paris

Yes, they remove them so they can install the permanent ones.
