Really shocking: DF The Dealer and his cronies ignore the rules for fun and profit. Who’d have imagined? Ontario Place development, anyone?

There are no penalties for violating Ontario’s Archives and Recordkeeping Act, which bars government staffers from deleting emails, and the maximum fine for violating Ontario’s freedom of information law is $5,000.

So other than a fine that that is basically nothing, there is nothing that can happen?! How can there not be “something” to deter people from deleting what ever they want? I don’t know much about the laws involved in this but hope something will come of this.

Sure - but there are laws against destroying evidence. If they can recover any of the emails using warrants for phones and computers then that would probably be a problem for DF and his lackeys.
