Once again, the Federal gov bears the brunt of populist, provincial bullies without a clue. Politics in this country are a train wreck and now the carrion-fed Koch organization is pecking at the dead flesh. Yeah, and while we’re at it, in pre-election mode, let’s spend $8M and counting to remind us all how good things are under the blue oaf in Ontario.

What about the taxes not paid on income through deductions? If the business is paying out 25-30% in legitimate expenses against the Doctor’s income, it’s a push. No-one has got anything near an increase to keep up with inflation over the past time span they reference - that’s why Galen Weston is the poster-boy for corporate greed: HE makes more (as do the investor-class of land-owners and stock-players) while we plebes foot the bill.
Goddam, I’d like to get ahead, too, who wouldn’t? But the implicit message here is “Pay me more or I’m gone.” So CTV interviews one doctor who’s uncertain she’ll get sufficient ROI on her Canadian taxpayer subsidized education, who’s facing making a median $250K a year and upset that after expenses and taxes, she won’t have enough left to pay herself anything but “a pretty low rate”.
How low? Well… $250K minus 30% expenses is $175K - and if they are legit deductions, her tax bill will be around $38500, leaving her $136500 as take home. That’s $47.40 per hour.

Secondary? That implies it has any priority what so ever in the market. It has been shown clearly there is no consideration of the social aspect of housing as an investment. It’s how much you can get for your property, that now carries no mortgage (OK, boomer), and how you can fund the lifestyle you’ve been practising for all these years. Remember, there are no poor people, just temporarily inconvenienced millionaires.

If “Femicide” is now a thing where is the examination of female on male murder, assault, and coercion? Seems lopsided to announce an epidemic without any view of the totality. This is very reminiscent of the arguement that one in four unhoused people is female so ACTION MUST BE TAKEN to end the female housing crisis!!! And the other 3/4ths of unhoused? Well, they’re men and therefore disposable.

Let’s be honest here. Anyone who expects CT to do anything over the barest legal minimum is delusional. That the head office coughed up the $5K this poor soul spent on the car is as close to an admission of greedy guilt as you’ll ever get from a corporation without a legal gun to their head.
And lest you think me just a hater, when I was younger I went to CT faithfully, resulting in: an AC/Delco alternator being bodged onto my Celica, my 1/2" ventillated rotors being replaced by 1/4" unventillated on my Monza, losing a hubcap and putting a tire on backwards on my Corolla, and flat out refusing to touch my brakes on my Chevy G-20. They are consistently the worst place for service in the country.

Ha ha ha, suckers, the FSRA board that allows annual rate hikes is made up of former & soon-to-be-again insurance execs. On who’s authority? The fat fuck, why of course!!
If someone was willing to bring Galen Jerky to the party I’d be there is a heart-beat. Even if it was teriyaki or honey garlic.
