A critical fiber line was cut in the Toronto Don-Mills area on September 25th by a Metrolinx construction crew.
The fiber line is critical to parts of the GTA and parts of Ottawa.

This was the norm when I was with Rogers. LOL
Pretty same when I was on Rogers. Though the only providers available in my area run on Rogers infrastructure and are directly effected.
Can’t believe a service provider this large would allow a construction company to cut a main line this large that connects almost all of Toronto and many parts of Ontario.
I can.
Roger’s didn’t let them cut it - the construction crew was negligent. They should have had the line (and any other utilities) located before working and using non destructive means (usually a hydro-vac) to safety work around the cable. Causing damage like this comes with large fines to the construction crew.
They don’t allow it. It happens. Unless you have someone watching the backhoe in real time with like a stun gun pointed at the operator, you WILL get infrastructure wrecked. The can’t know and care about every wire laid down there, and there are a lot.
Remember, kinder Morgan was off by 40 feet on it’s as-built diagram, which the operator was using to ensure he didn’t spike the pressurized oil line. Since I’m writing it here, you know a geyser happened, coating homes and property downwind.
What business wouldn’t love the large cost of repair and loss of angry customers? How could they resist allowing it?
Of course they don’t allow it…
That’s interesting. My speed with Rogers ignite have been extremely stable.
I just hate the fact they increase my bill randomly and I have to call to get it lowered. Should be illegal, especially since I’m paying a criminal amount already.
Yeah. This was regular for Ottawa.
