There is a small amount of fact checking. Here is Startpage’s anon view. Lots of cross in the first hour of the debate. Several questionable statements.
I was amused at Ramaswamy saying we need to put people back to work because the problem was that we are paying people more to stay home than to go to work and we need to fix our supply chain, and blah blah blah … and I’m thinking of people who are out of work and I can’t imagine why I’d go to a job paying LESS than what they’re making. Oh, and then he wanted to cut government jobs, so I guess they should NOT work?

I would imagine it played out a lot like a hand full of 10-12 year old kids arguing about what superhero can beat up the other superheroes. In other words, nothing but a bunch of mindless bickering and temper tantrums.
I think kids know more about superheroes than these people know about their constituents. I mean, I guess they know the ‘potential-voter’ chunk of their constituents will favor … low wages, I guess? But I don’t know how Pence could make it past the primaries when he answers the question of ‘how would you protect LGBTQ citizens’ with the (paraphrased) answer, ‘I’d ban trans surgeries’.
It was much worse than the first debate. Several times the moderators lost control. At one point Haley and Scott were arguing about the curtains of then Ambassador Haley’s office/residence. Like literal window dressing.
There were some good questions asked, and I give it to the moderator from Univision for occasionally asking or saying things that were a bit outside of typical Republican talking points. But for the most part, it was just watching dodgeball.
I think the only good thing I heard come out of it was the forcefulness of those who were pro-Ukraine against Vivek’s anti-Ukraine talk. Plus they jumped on him for his Chinese business connections, as he tried to play-up his anti-China rhetoric.
But none of that matters when Trump is still like 30-40pts ahead of all them. And he wasn’t even there.
I didn’t watch it, but somehow I know what everyone said.
