The loosely knit collective that vocally opposed COVID-19 health measures has morphed into a movement waging a broader fight against 'perceived government overreach,' says a newly released assessment from Canada's spy agency.

Look for the source, look for the funders, follow the money.

It’s a political movement and political movements need money to function, they need money to flourish and they need lots of money to continue existing.

Lots is political, ideological, even religious groups have a big following of people … but we seldom hear about them because they don’t have money to promote our pay their followers to do things in a regular basis.

Look at the NDP, they have a large following but they’re barely able to hold on to the public stage most times.

The only reason right wing nuts have so much attention and notoriety is money and funding. If they didn’t have that, we would never hear about them.

Look for the source of who is giving these idiots money and you’ll find the reason why they exist and have become so noticeable.

sigh

There is a lot of stuff we can fight for, but this crap isn’t part of it.

“While this perceived tyranny is widespread across the movement, other narratives are becoming increasingly common among adherents,” the brief says, citing opposition to:

  • the LGBTQ2S+ community, specifically drag story times and inclusion of material in public school curriculums;
  • perceived increase in global control over Canada by international institutions such as the United Nations and the World Economic Forum;
  • communism;
  • and the concept of “15-minute cities,” on the basis that planning easily navigable communities is a plot to restrict mobility rights and create a mass-surveillance state.

It’s just being ill-informed about everything and easily manipulated, with a heavy dose of bigotry. Shame on Poilievre and the Conservatives for indulging this stupidity for their own gain.

Dipshits don’t even realize we already have a mass surveillance state and that banning queer content is always an early play of overreaching governments
