Good point. I had forgotten about disabling network access. I think a majority of the games I paid for work off the idea that if you connect a few times or have a certain amount of plays times you can then play offline. Well the ones that check that is.

Maybe I’ll give this a go. Thanks for the advice

What data would be sent off having Google Play services installed? I get that you can disable certain permissions and can also use profiles.

Ideally I wouldn’t want to use profiles. I could use something like Shelter on a rooted device but that kind of slows down multitasking

Thanks but I’m shooting for as little contact with Google as possible

I’ve tried lucky patcher with a few games with minimal luck. I haven’t tried it with Stardew Valley though so maybe there’s a chance

How can I go about cracking the Android games that I own?
I own Stardew Valley but I am avoiding using the Google Play store when possible. While I could just sign into Aurora Store with my Google account I think I'd need to install Google Play Services so I am wondering if I could crack the game myself. I think in the past people used Lucky Patcher but I have tried it with other games that I own with no luck. I've looked through the megathread and it seems like there are versions of Stardew Valley uploaded to Mobilism but a majority of them are modded for things like infinite stamina and money. The version without mods on Mobilism also appears to be re-uploaded from Apk Vision which isn't in the megathread.

Due it being like this since I got it, an intermittent issue, and a common issue online I don’t think it is the unit. Killing Oculus’ software and restarting it would occasionally get it to work so I feel like it might be that. I spent sometime reading Oculus Support threads and others shared my suspicions.

My only other thought would have been my motherboard or power supply. My CPU, GPU, and RAM should be enough.

I have tried that. I unplugged everything except a wireless keyboard I used to navigate the menus and it didn’t help

I used to run a Raspberry Pi 4 in the same case for months at a time and didn’t have issues. I’d say you are fine

They work just fine. You can either attempt to use the install script Lutris provides you and hope it gives you the option to supply your own files (this is primarily GOG games and source ports) or set up a new game from scratch by selecting the exe file of the installer and later changing it to the game.

You should check ProtonDB even if you aren’t using Proton to make sure there’s no additional fixes or edits that need to be applied.

If you need help or have questions let me know.

There are archived versions of re3 and reVC if you wanted to give it a try. I can’t say I’ve had any issues running the latest release.

Another classic. It’s a shame the client cannot run on Linux due to the lack of shared resources in DXVK.

From what I recall Doitsujin of DXVK seems to think it’s a ways away from getting fixed.

Are they inactive right now? I’m not sure if they went the way of re3 (a reverse engineered version of GTA 3 designed to fix bugs, port the game to several platforms, and expand modding capabilities) and were shut down under pressure from Rockstar.

What games have you played with community run multiplayer mods?
For example Project Cartographer describes itself as the following > Project Cartographer is a modification for Halo 2 PC (Halo 2 for Windows Vista) that restores online play (Microsoft abandoned the LIVE servers) and adds additional features that are not present in the base game. Before the release of Master Chief Collection it was my go-to for playing online. Similarly H1-Mod exists for CoD: Modern Warfare Remastered. I'd be interested to hear which ones you've tried and how active the community is. They don't need to be currently active or a replacement for a game's existing multiplayer services. It could be something like Zandronum which allows you to play the classic Doom or [NVMP-X](https://gamerant.com/fallout-new-vegas-nvmp-multiplayer-mod-install/) which allows you to play Fallout New Vegas with friends. Most of these services don't contain DRM so you can use Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle, or any other version of the game and because they are community run you don't have to worry about servers going down as time goes on and can potentially host your own games. --- I also like to make a special mention of X Link Kai which allows you to play system link games remotely. If you are curious I'd check out ConsoleMods.org for setup instructions and their website for [a list of supported games](https://www.teamxlink.co.uk/wiki/Supported_Games). There's plenty of other similar services out there depending on what console you are using such as Insignia for the original Xbox. I'd love to see these communities grow.

Did you let it run for a bit and configure your browser? Mental Outlaw has a good setup video.

If it’s an issue with being unable to install i2p in the first place that’s a separate matter

Did they say donate to 1337x or donate to 1337x followed by a link? If it’s the latter it might be to trick people into donating to an individual.

I’d be hesitant to think that’s how 1337x mods would get a few extra dollars.

Here is a Kotaku article titled Bootleggers Explain Why There’s So Much Video Game Piracy in China. It is from 2013 and I think there has been a size amount of legislation changes but it sounds like the grey market for video games was thriving thanks to console mods.

I could still see it existing today considering you do occasionally see someone selling drives full of pirated games. It might be a more local sneakernet style of system.

Good question though. I love hearing and learning about how piracy works in other countries.

By pirating an NFT you mean saving the image? Because the owner of an NFT doesn’t always own the copyright or license.

One thing I have had an issue with is torrent clients closing, by default for some reason, to the notification bar. If you are toggling on and off your VPN to avoid captchas or slow load times you should seriously consider turning it off.

On a similar note I stopped using Transmission because I read it has an issue with staying open after the user the attempts to exit the program.

Sure is. If you want examples search Fit-Girl’s (or your favorite repacker’s) website for the term Goldberg. If you want to know more you can find their GitLab page pretty easy.

I don’t think it’s completely flawless but it seems to be pretty commonly used.

It works fine. You’ll likely notice a slight decrease in performance and a lot of the time you’ll be using Windows versions of games instead of native Linux titles because that’s what’s available. Sometimes Lutris install scripts won’t play nice with pirated game installers so you might have to look at the script and see what tweaks it uses.

Yeah the statistics page is a neat addition I don’t think I’ve seen on other podcast managers.

I was able to find more info on Spotiflyer. There’s not much more to it.

Apparently the domain expired for Deemix and the subreddit dedicated to it links people to the FAQ on the website.

I wasn’t sure if it was similar to programs I’ve used in the past where you need to create a Deezer account and manually convert Spotify playlists with another service.

There’s no intros. It’s the same tracks as Spotify as far as I can tell. That said it isn’t always able to find more obscure artists. It can be hit and miss

  1. You have a physical copy, but want a digital version.

Kind of similar but I feel like pirating content you have legal access to (Steam, Spotify, Amazon, Netflix, etc.) in a way to get around DRM is ethical.

For example wanting to listen to songs you have on Spotify on an iPod or reading ebooks purchased from Amazon on your PC.

Just telling you what the settings page says. It probably just defaults to the maximum quality level. 320kbs may be relevant to other platforms you can download from using Spotiflyer like SoundCloud.

That said I can’t tell the different between 256 and 320 kbs.

SpotiFlyer. It matches songs in a Spotify playlist to songs on YouTube and downloads them. Great if you like Spotify’s curated and niche playlists but don’t like their app or restrictions on playback.

Antenna Pod is great for podcasts but that’s not really piracy.

I thought it might be a loose connection or a cable issue as well but I’ve tried reseating them and also using an externally powered USB hub because I’ve heard that can fix some issues.

Weird, mine has been absolutely rock solid. And I don’t touch the oculus software, just SteamVR. I’ve played hundreds of hours of Bonelab and Half Life 2 VR etc

Don’t you need Meta’s software to setup the headset and get your computer to recognize it?

I own a Rift S as well and absolutely hate Meta’s software. On the hardware side of things I’ve had pretty much constant disconnection issues

Typically I’ll check IMDb for the More like this section and go from there. It’s how I found out about Jeff and Some Aliens and The Life and Times of Tim.

Some media is also hard to come by so people might fear deleting content that might not be easy to get back in the future.

Look at all the semi-lost media where there’s only a segment of it that exists on YouTube

I own a PS4 so having the dual functionality would be nice though I would primarily be using it for videos. As I said in another comment they are also quite cheap (~$100) where I live and I’d like to avoid any of Meta’s software and only Oculus products (and the PSVR) are available second hand

I am looking at the original. They can be found real cheap where I live second hand

How well does PSVR work on PC?
I've seen some videos and guides but a lot of them are dated back multiple years. I'm primarily looking for something to use for watching 3D movies.

Lucky Patcher seems to have a decent community. Real mixed bag what works though
