It’s amazing what having the potential of ownership ripped away can do.

Which means around 50 didn’t want to work for Krafton or already found jobs. Good for them.

True but this is why we have trusted groups instead of googling software and running the first exe you find. This application of common sense applies to many facets of life.

Exactly what I was thinking. A pirate in the west doesn’t stay a pirate for long without one.

You could check the cs.rin forum. Those guys are usually pretty knowledgeable though I can’t weigh in specifically for Skyrim.

Agreed. Definitely send this to Louis. The tirade will be funny, at the very least.

Being under the ActiBlizzard umbrella wasn’t exactly a walk in the park for a lot of employees either.

It’s not just the US, trust me. One horribly true fact of life is justice only works for those who can afford it.

There’s no mention of cracking in the update. It’s all about doing music or host some kind of server for her “cult”. I just wish she’d pass on her knowledge of Denuvo cracking to someone so at least someone could try pick up the mantle.

When I used Mint, I found I’d typically get outdated versions when downloading software from the “store”, sometimes to the extent that it outright wouldn’t work. It was because of that I found myself needing to learn to use Terminal.

Nah. An Apple exec would outright tell you you’re using it wrong despite knowing of an inherent flaw in the design and offer to sell you a new one for even more money.

It’d be pretty stupid to get any amount of upset over someone having an opinion. Factual inaccuracies are something else though.

Not whatever way you’ve been using it by the sounds of things.

You’ll never convince the zealots who believe sun shines out of Torvalds’ asshole.

Just need to work on it, huh? Oddly, that something I almost never need to do with Windows unless I’m doing something extremely niche.

Doesn’t sound like you’re using it right.

You seem rather fixated on Edge, unlike anyone who’s ever used Windows.

I guess some of us are more astute when it comes to the difference between clicking something and needing to open a terminal and remember strings of commands before. Oh, and being intrinsically familiar with a forum.

You’re right, broader compatibility and being more user-friendly serves no use to anyone

They know about the piracy and are actively removing copyrighted content. This has seen a lot of files going poof from its usage on pornographic forums and is now considered unreliable for such purposes. Not sure if this is going to spill over into other pirated content but I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

I would add creation within an IP to this as well. There are so many good IP out there that some large company has devoured and actively chooses to just sit on when we could be getting good fan-made content. One example that comes to mind since it was brought up is EA sitting on American McGee’s Alice. So many fans are desperate for good content from their favourite IPs and are getting corporate by-the-numbers drivel at best or simply nothing.

I think a good trade off here is fans can make what they want then the owners are allowed to incorporate fan stories at their choosing so X fan game would be the official third game in a franchise then the IP owner could run with those ideas to make the fourth entry, for example. It’ll never happen but one can dream.

Given Sony’s recent string of questionable business decisions and showing their own customers what a bunch of shady pricks they are, they’re probably desperate for any amount of cash injection to put on their quarterly report.

Edit: fixed typos from when I stupidly typed while barely conscious.

At least it’s not Kotaku but all this consolidation is far from good news. Heaven forbid reporters should get to stay independent, let alone being puppeted by a company that’s little more than a meme.

Not to mention generally shitty business practices and eve more arbitrary regional locking than you might think. I was living in a non-English speaking country back when I was willing to pay for Netflix and I tried watching an anime only to find I couldn’t get the English dub. I contacted support and their answer was “You don’t live in an English-speaking region so it doesn’t make sense for you to have access to it 🤷🏻‍♂️”. I stopped paying on the spot.

Tis the new age of sailing the seas, yaaarrrr!
