True, if you wanna play games with really high requirements you need to cough up mu h more than 700 euros, I’m just saying the Steam Deck is better value than a PlayStation.

Or a steam deck. The cheapest option for that is like a bit under 400 I think and it doubles as a PC while having a massive library of games plus emulation.

My first though was “Hell yea, another Pillars of Eternity game” then I remembered that Deadfire has been out for a long time and Avowed was announced a while ago.

Fair enough, that’s a sense you build up over time with some plunder, or at least it was for me.

If you wanna try Sims 4 I’m using Sims 4 updater by anadius, that gets everything you need and keeps everything up to date (while having less of a footprint than Origin).

I have exactly the same issues with Sims 3. My PC is pretty much as powerful as it’s gonna get but Sims 3 with all the performance tweaks and mods just won’t run properly, it’s downright unplayable. Too bad it’s my favourite Sims.

Does anyone actually buy the Sims games? Like the full game costs a fortune, just sail the high seas, EA shouldn’t get a cent.

Google has been unusable in English for at least 2 years now. Searching in Estonian makes Google behave like it did when it was still good. I wonder how long that’s going to last.

Eastern Europe would be a yes. I know Germany is super anal about copyright but dunno about the rest of the EU.

Veebimajutus. They are a local registrar in my country and I like to support local businesses.

Removing DRM and archiving is perfectly legal here in Estonia, only thing that counts as piracy here is distributing copyrighted materials without a license. I’m pretty sure it’s not in the US but check your local laws.

That is absolutely not the case. Even in the EU there are only a few countries where the copyright laws are close to that strict but none with laws as strict.

Yuzu is open source though so can’t people who don’t live in the US just fork it? Copyright laws are a lot for lax outside the US.

Don’t all the sports games and Call of Duties also review and sell well? I don’t think many would call them good games.

Yea, I don’t follow any gaming media or forum. I pretty much get new things to play from either Steam’s recommended list or Humble Bundle.

I haven’t played the last Mortal Kombat, that’s true. All previous ones, which I did play, including the 2 Injustice games, felt too samey for me to bother with another one.

I havent owned a console so that explains why I don’t recognise Naughty Dog. I vaguely recognise Uncharted and the last of us but I know nothing of the games themselves.

I haven’t played either of the RDR games or any Company of Heroes games and the last Warhammer I played was Soulstorm so I can’t comment on those.

I have played quite a few fighting games and the genre is definitely quite stale when it comes to single player. The only ones I can think of where I enjoyed the single player was the new Smash and Skullgirls. Mortal Kombat hasn’t had a new idea in like decades, they seem to be content with milking the franchise without doing anything new.

I don’t think commercial success is a good indicator of what makes a good game though, like all the Call of Duty games released every year are not good but they are successful. Not to mention the sport games that rake in obscene amounts of money while nothing much changes between releases. Or mobile games…

Hasn’t modern Mortal Kombat been absolutely crap? And Rockstar games have felt worse ever since GTA 4 and they are currently just focused on milking online content.

Relic I only know for Impossible Creatures and Naughty Dog isn’t ringing any bells for me so can’t say anything about that.

Like 5 developers of Black Isle founded Obsidian but as far as I know Troika just disappeared along with it’s developers. I can’t find anything about Bioware and CD Project or Larian collaborating though.

I can’t think of a single exception to a big company buying up a game studio and that studio’s quality absolutely plummeting. EA has been buying up good studios and gutting them for decades, I doubt Microsoft is any better, they already have a history of doing that to different software.

I don’t even care about exclusive. Obsidian, CDProject, InXile and Larian are like the only studios left that make really good RPGs and whenever a studio gets bought out their quality absolutely plummets, I can’t think of a single exception to that. I do like Larian’s and CDProject’s stuff but Obsidian RPGs have been my favourites and it just feels like I won’t get another amazing Obsidian RPG. Like I already saw Bioware, Bethesda, Troika and Black Isle either disappear or have their quality go to absolute shit.

Also FYI Wasteland is like a super old franchise.

Studios being bought up like this usually means stuff from them will degrade in quality fast. The last thing from Blizzard I liked was Warcraft 3 and Starcraft 2 so for me no big loss. I’m more upset about Obsidian and InXile.

If you want manual updates then windows 8 is the only option. You can turn off auto updates on Windows 10 pro with a GPO but it’s still install all or nothing then. You could also try running it as a virtual machine if you just need it for one program.

I own my apartment too and if its value dropped to zero it would have no effect, I would still be living in it with no change.

Something should probably be done about housing bought with loans but even if it isn’t anyone who bought a home to live in will continue to do so, it’s value being pretty much irrelevant.

Decomodify housing. Like tax owning a home past like the 3th one so high it would destitute someone as rich as Musk in a month. Watch everyone who uses property for investment panic sell and crash the market into oblivion. The people who want to own a home can now do so and the rest can be bought up by the government for cheap to convert into public housing. Ez affordable housing and renting in one swoop.

If by co-ops this means just a bunch of people coming together that want an apartment and the government gives them money to build said apartment building that they all cooperatively own and live in then that’s an amazing policy and I would 100% support that.

Then fund building more homes. Why would you give money to a 3th party so they can use said money to hire someone to build more homes. I’m not Canadian but this shouldn’t be an issue you need 8D chess for, if people charge too much, put in price control or make it very expensive to have more than 1 home, if there’s not enough homes then build more.

Probably a good idea to block market forces that incentiveise corpos from buying up all homes, creating a generation that can’t afford to own a home.

How are people not just breaking into the empty places and just living rent free? Like Canada is probably as cold as here and I would die in the winter if I didn’t have a home.

I used to run my own mail server about 2 years ago but unfortunately the spam got so bad I didn’t have the time to manage all the filters. I moved over to ProtonMail since I can still use my own domain there. So I guess I would say it’s not really worth it also it really sucks if your power is out and not having access to sent your power company a strongly worded email.
