Big businesses couldn’t care less about where the money comes from as long as it ends up in their pockets.

Only thing stopping them from sending hired thugs to your house to shake the change out your pockets is the law. And even then they might try if the profit outweighs the penalty.

Can you remember the last version that worked for you? A quick workaround could be downloading an older build off the github.

Still this is extremely disappointing and hopefully someone forks it.

This goes for any content not just piracy sites. Just the other day I seen someone I watch delete half of their videos but luckily I had downloaded everything.

There’s a bunch of stuff from Youtube alone I can’t see again because I didn’t download it when I had the chance…

Funnily Metallica was the first thing 11yo me pirated after some older student told me about uTorrent/PirateBay.

Same guy also sent me some Slayer and Entombed over bluetooth. Hope he’s doing good these days.

To my fellow Brits, a VPN is NOT optional at this point you’re just putting yourself at unnecessary risk.

Mullvad is £50 for a whole year, and you can pay by mailing cash to their office or buying a gift card so it’s not directly tied to your bank account.

And where in the world you live.

I got a friend in Australia with a pretty similar storage setup to me, but he’s paid about 1.5x as much as I did in the UK.

I ain’t gonna say it’s as easy as Windows but I personally haven’t had too much trouble running cracked games using the Lutris launcher.

Lutris also lets you show logs by right click on the game, So if you get an error while playing or loading it gives you something to look up.

Also you can ask for help over at /c/linuxcracksupport@lemmy.world

Welcome to the club!

Not only that but the original mixes of albums often don’t get put on streaming platforms because of licensing bullshit or whatever.

And especially for rock and metal the newer remasters of popular albums tend to be pretty bad and overly compressed or have weird post EQ added.

‘It’s not fair that we keep getting scammed and others don’t’

So just don’t give them money next time?

‘LALALALA I can’t hear you, it’s your fault not mine LALALALA’

I use uBlock but every now and then Twitch ads start slipping through, They normally go back to being blocked with the next uBlock update.

It’s a real cat and mouse game.

Truly Spain without the S

My buddy in Spain says the block it pretty easier to get around at least.

I’m sadly aware…which is another reason why I try go straight to the band/artist first.

It’s not that I won’t but I do try to go out of my way to support smaller artists I enjoy, especially nowadays.

Lucky it’s gotten a lot easier with sites like Bandcamp, but it’s better if I can buy directly from the bands own store.

I’ve seen stuff like that in subtitles during the opening or ending credits a few times. Never when the movie was still playing tho…

This ^ some people are weirdly hellbent against using Firefox for basically no reason.

Had a someone I know recently which between 3 different chromium browsers to find one where the adBlock still worked on Youtube, But would refuse Firefox for the pettiest of reasons from ‘I can’t sync logins with my google account’ to ‘That browsers for NERDS
