Thanks for this very detailed description. Setting this up sounds a bit much to me, but still interesting

Is your laptop running a Server os or is it still usable as a normal laptop?

Thanks for the recommendation. What hardware are you running docker on?

Show of your Piracy Workflow (Movie/TV)
I'm wondering about what your piracy workflow looks like. 1. Where do you find what shows/films to watch? 2. Do you stream for convenience or download for superior quality? 3. Where do you store media? 4. What software are you using to watch it? 5. How do you keep track of your watchlist, which episode you already watched or where you left off in a movie? I have Netflix and Disney+ (through family) and it already drives me crazy to remember where which show is available, download quality sucks, shows get delisted halfway through watching them. Sometimes multiple seasons even are across multiple streaming services. (I was very sad before I discovered there were more than 4 seasons of Adventure Time). I even want to pay for the production of good media, but streaming services make it a really hard sell 🤬 I know that the -arr suite with jellyfin is a pretty nice workflow, but I'm not into self hosting (yet).

Thank you for your super detailed response. That’s a lot of information 😅 Talking about codecs is only applicable to torrenting, right? (I’ve never seen a streaming site talk about the codecs they use).

I don’t really mind paying a bit (and hopefully supporting the creation of new media), but it’s unbelievable that Disney+ butchers a lot of the most memorable Pixar scenes, with terrible compression. (When a lot of snow, confetti or other particles are on screen).

PS: I live in the EU, so I’m not signing away my right to live by subscribing to a streaming service. WTF is going on on the other side of the atlantic. I can’t even believe what a capitalist nightmare some call the United States of America.

Streaming with high bit rates
I have a Disney plus subscription through my family and watched a cool animation film yesterday. Sadly the horrible nitrate destroyed all the nice particle effects wich really took me out of the experience. Are there any sites wich offer high quality streaming or should I look into torrenting for blue ray rips?

Yeah, but Nintendo hasn’t won a lawsuit, which means the code isn’t illegal to share. They just convinced GitHub to take it down.

Thanks for the tips :) But 4k is kind of crap on the quest 3. For seeing a relatively sharp picture at least 6k is needed

It seems like I cannot download a preview without an account :(

Even if that’s not exactly my type of content I will look into it

When looking at sfw 360 videos I’ve noticed that even 8k isn’t as sharp as natively rendered content (all tough almost). Any tips of creating the perfect setup.

Any recommendations on where to find the torrents?

True, but the few I’ve tried were bad quality (super blurry)

VR Porn
Can anyone recommend me a free VR porn website? (Download or streaming) I recently bought a quest 3 and I wanna try how that feels.

If you have enough money to live comfortably, I think you should pay for art you love. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t pirate anything (especially from big corps), but please donate some money to indie games, music, theatre…

Wow, this is a high quality comment.

I guess it’s understandable to be concerned about licensing when putting money and work into a project like this, but I still hope they change their mind.

So I should look into hosting docket on my pi and upgrade as soon as I feel like it?

It’s there any way around this? I don’t want my smart home applications to run sluggish. They need to have priority.

Can you tell me a good scanner with integrated OCR? I used to love vflat, but they took a dark turn with a pricey subscription plan

Home Assistant, Nextcloud and paperless ngx on a Pi 4
Hi Guys. Currently, my Raspberry Pi 4 is only running Home Assistant OS, which works quite well. In the last few weeks, I have grown more and more interested in paperless ngx and Nextcloud. Do you think my pi would be able to handle home automation and some light document management simultaneously? If so, should I install a fresh version of Raspbian or let HA-OS handle the Docker containers? Thanks for your answers, and have a wonderful day :)

I’m curious why someone who is able to afford 40TB of drive space is interested in piracy. Is it more about archiving and ownership than saving a buck?

Really made me understand why my own fridge (and especially the freezer part) is this bad. Bless this channel
