When you can meet once every half year why would you meet monthly or once a week? Also, you can secretly tell the meeting point over pidgin.

One head off, two new coming. And if we have to send USB Sticks with the stuff! Id rather get Carrier pigeons than stop pirating!

XD my boss has a list of stuff explicitly allowed to pirat for work because the license is stupidly expensive and we only need it once a leap year.

“yeah the service is called piracy and you should use a VPN”

Seriously, my coworkers pirat more stuff than i do… Some even for work…

Bro defending Windows like a toddler that got told his toy light saber is actually just a stick…

I can uninstall the kernel and the bootloader while you people cannot actually remove the fucking Edge browser…

Bro when you do research for 5 years on a product, put it out at a price that gives you back the research costs within a reasonable time and then someone comes, steals your product and sells ot for basically nothing because they produce in slave labor china that’s not just bad thats going to kill innovation and destroy the market.

Eh… For some things that might be true, but you have to take research costs into account…

Uhmm its free for you… This is a piracy sub. Someone is always paying for something.

What the fuck are you talking about, systemd isn’t doing anything wrong.

I have to disagree, Windows is never free, they sell all your data even when you buy it. Use Linux.

And yeah its a bummer, before that I’ve given Mullvad and proton as great options, but currently i can only advertise for Proton in good faith. Its a little more expensive (unless you have a business plan regardless…) but its great for everything else.

They don’t have port forwarding wich is a problem for torrenting.

Proton is one of the best, Mullvad is behind only because of the port forwarding. But both are above everything else.

https://protonvpn.com/plans

If you want just the vpn without any of the very common discounts its 5€ for 2 years plan

Its the cheapest good torrenting option with good bandwidth and great privacy.

Definitely 100 times cheaper than torrenting without vpn and getting caught.

Russian software, no end to end encryption by default, a smear campaign against signal, being based in Dubai and censoring LGBT stuff, being more and more for profit (wich wouldn’t be that bad when they wouldn’t be obnoxious about it) and probably more.

E: seems like i offended some stans.

No they usually use big international lawyer firms. Or at least thats what i got from them.

The switch was never actually good, it was just the first actual handheld after the PSP. From a technical perspective it was at best mediocre. Although the reintroduction of the handheld after it basically failed with the PSP (wich was great for its tech level but still not good enough) was well done, the actual performance of the product was not good. The stick drift was just the cherry on top.

Still a lawyer doing it. If everyone ads a repo every day, they would waste a lot of funds on fighting against windmills.

Their innovation on that end is going to the electronics warehouse with a box and getting the cheapest things you can get…

The name the website is giving them is weird, it’s officially the “Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication”, their mission is the same (fighting piracy) so it doesn’t really matter but it’s still weird to call them by one of their tasks.

All of their tasks together would be: “department of censorship” so even more DDOS reason. Fuck em.

Anyway this is an interesting study because of the data, but the reading is obviously biased, they imply that the use of VPNs and what they call “alternative DNS” (yeah guess what, if my ISP blocks websites I’m still going to access them) is suspicious, they do mention security/privacy as one of the usages (it’s the two main motivations for the majority of users in their results).

I mean the obvious reason for this is framing they hate people circumventing their censorship. And changing the DNS doesn’t even require a vpn lol…

Something interesting : NordVPN is the most used by the panel, I think it’s reasonable to explain it by the heavy marketing NordVPN did on french youtube (almost every big youtuber had an ad segment with them), but their results say otherwise, 35% of the panel says it’s based on recommendations from closed ones.

Nord heavily advertised all over Europe, this has two reasons firstly, they suck and make too much money, probably selling your data and being a security risk in general and Secondly because they are likely paid by these censorship departments to be exactly that, its a honeypot.

Proton all the way.

I don’t know why some in the panel of 3000 people would self report as pirating, it sounds dumb to admit to an infraction to the law.

Depends, if its anonymous I’d do that as well, because i would love to rub it in their faces, even if not anonymous I’d probably do it cause they can’t prove it.

Lot of stuff, but you can mostly avoid it when you are aware of it. You cant look into everything but you don’t need to buy stuff you know is likely infested with winnie-pooh.exe it’s the quantity that makes the poison deadly, limit the amount of China intake to live a happy and sustainable life.

Tbh Linux is kinda enough. Difference between a computer and a human is that you can limit what goes in. Also most viruses are for windows, the equivalent would be covid only working on Asian people that ate the bat or had sex with the people that did.

Ew a pro China person.

Taiwan is a country!

Also most cracks are from South America nowadays. Russians did many as well, but the crackers aren’t likely to be affiliated to the government and dont fund a war.
