If you wanna expand your site in the future, something like Kirby CMS might be great. It is paid but dev experience, community and loading speed of pages are much better that with something like Wordpress.

I wished people just posted to one community at a time. This spam is definitely annoying and why don’t people just use the crosspost feature!?

P.S. is there YouTube with no ads?

For YouTube there’s Yattee. Bit of a pain to setup but works really well and it’s even in the AppStore somehow.

No idea about Spotify though.

Man that scuba diver incident was also the turning point for me. Before that I actually thought he was involved in a lot of cool stuff and probably a positive influence but I also didn’t pay all that much attention to him.

I got the same message with uBlock. The site also goes apeshit in some places because I assume it tries to circumvent my adblocker by changing classes in the dom. Either way - at this point I don’t care any more.

That and sync. I wanna keep track of what I read already. Add to that functionality for saving favorites etc and you got a much better package overall.

JetBrains comes to mind as one of the fairest subscription services I know. It also get cheaper the longer you’re subscribed, incentivizing you to to stay subscribed. It’s both smart and user friendly.

The worst one is probably Adobe.

Yeah that is unfortunate. They will probably never fully replace Youtube until they change drastically. They also serve a niche of interests only. It happens to align with my interests really well but it’s definitely not for everyone.

I rather watch less content on nebula than support this horrible user experience.

At this point the majority of channels that I like are on Nebula. You’re right, it won’t be a huge loss.

That sounds horrible. What about this stupid standard takes this fucking long? Is it not improvable by current tech?

I also started with Mario Wonder. The wonder effects are a lot of fun. I suck at 2D sidescrollers, so let’s see how Im gonna do in the later levels.

The rest you can find on itch.io or the builtin catalog.

I know this is a piracy community but these games are usually made by single devs or small studios, so buying them seems like a good choice if you can afford it. That’s also one of the reasons these games are not likely to be posted on torrent sites or similar sources.

We definitely need a “bad UI battles” community here.

Finally DLSS. I‘m using the mod for it right now and it just looks so much better than the default upscaler.

Some people might argue it’s a different thing but for me individual YouTubers have replaced the role gaming magazines / websites took in the past. I follow a few who tend to enjoy the same games as I do. They usually do not release their videos right when the embargo is lifted but take a bit more time - which I enjoy.

That said, I could see how a fediverse focused gaming outlet might fill a niche. I don’t think anything like this exists yet and existing outlets barely have a presence here (or I didn’t notice, I haven’t exactly been looking for this).

Hey look, an accessory to extend the capabilities of my switch!

I just tried it. Custom UI with wonky text, doesn’t support system dark mode, started up taking over my whole ultra-wide screen in a flood of white. Immediately removed this.

Java apps can be made well though but this isn’t one of them.

Depends on what you’re after but I recently switched to Protonmail and they allow you to use your own domain and set up a catch-all. If you like what they’re offering in terms of encryption and all, it might a great solution for you.

Is there a reason Android studio is so fucking resource hungry? XCode is running way better with a simulator open and the other Jetbrain IDEs are just fine as well and so is any other virtualization. It’s just Android Studio that sucks somehow.

I think the more severe issue here is that an architecture change would make the new device incompatible with the Switch. So they should preferably stay with something arm-based that can ideally mimic the original SOC closely.

Backups and archived files go to my home server which then backups to backblaze b2.

But first, can you fix my printer?

How good is spam detection on ProtonMail? Especially compared to some of the big players like GMail?
