I will once I work up the courage, lol. Plan on making a post about it too once I’m ready to launch. (Still not sure which community would be appropriate to make such a post. There isn’t exactly an active community of DJs on Lemmy, at least not any I could find…)
If you don’t get a DM in a few hours, check back again tomorrow.
I feel this. I’ve been dreaming of running my own internet radio station ever since SHOUTcast first came out. Well it only took 25 years but I finally made it happen, yet I’m too scared to promote it cause I’m afraid that no one will want to join on as a DJ or even tune in. So here I sit, paying for the server space every month for nothing, lying to myself that this’ll finally be the day that I release it to the public…
Edit: Thanks for your interest, everyone! Okay here’s the link:

BTW I’ll need DJs, and curators to suggest songs for rotation when no DJ is on. If you want to be a DJ, click Join at the top right of the page, No experience necessary. Use your own software/hardware, or there’s a Web DJ interface you can use if you don’t have any gear. I won’t be on the Discord I made just yet, but I’ll check the website from time to time for applications.
And no sign up necessary if you just want to suggest a tune for rotation. Just click “Suggest” at the top! Thanks again for helping make my dream come true.
Lastly, I’m a DJ myself so if this station takes off, expect regular 3-5 hour sessions from me!
“YouTube shuffle”? Last time I heard that term, it was from ChatGPT when I complained to it that I was tired of the algorithm showing me the same videos over and over again. But I can’t find a “shuffle” button anywhere on YouTube, nor do I get any relevant results after googling it. So I told GPT it was full of shit and it agreed with me.
Please tell me how to use this “YouTube Shuffle” feature.
RDR 2. Bought it back in 2019 but my PC couldn’t really handle it too well (less than 45 FPS on medium), so I shelved it.
But now I have a 4090 and I’m enjoying the hell out of the game. It was slow at first but by the second chapter I was hooked. Looks damn good for a 4-year-old game, too; dare I say as good as a modern ray traced title. (I mean it’s close)
SponsorBlock is useful for more than just skipping sponsored segments, you know.
I use it mostly to remove the “hey guys” and “like and subscribe” bullshit that is in literally every. single. video. It’s irritating and I’m tired of hearing it.
Also, the “skip to highlight” is useful for those of us with ADHD. It keeps the less interesting videos interesting. Not everything needs a 20 minute intro before they get to the subject of the video.
This guy made a slimmer one. He cheated with the cooling, yes – but still – not bad for just one guy.
Here’s the official link cause some of the top search results are scams:
This so much. I can’t stress enough how much better Real-Debrid is than QBittorrent.
Save your money + hard drive space and listen to this person, OP. Not only can you stream anything you want instantly to any TV or device, you can also download a 50+ Gigabyte file in a matter of minutes (if you have the bandwidth). Hell, you could literally download and install two AAA games, play them both for a bit, and then uninstall them, all in under an hour (I’ve done it). No more waiting for seeds. Just download and enjoy.
Then setup Stremio + Torrentio, connect it to R-D, and get your family each their own accounts. And then cancel your VPN and sell all that equipment you bought (like the Pi), cause you no longer need it.
Edit: Why are you booing me? I’m right.
Isn’t this just a rehash of #927?
Don’t bother. Private trackers suck. You have to maintain a certain ratio, which is much harder to do than you think when every single popular file has no leechers cause everyone’s doing the same thing. So more often than not you have to download a bunch of random BS that no one wants and seed it forever just to build up a high enough ratio to finally download what you actually want.
If you’re going to pay for torrents, save yourself the hassle and just sign up for Real-Debrid instead. You get direct downloads at up to 1Gbps, so it’s just as fast as a private tracker, and there’s no worrying about seeding since all the most popular torrents in the world are stored directly on their servers. (You can also easily add torrents that aren’t already on Debrid, in which case it behaves like a seedbox.) ~$17.50 for 6 months.
Simple, you replace your torrent client with it. Instead of opening a torrent file in QBittorrent or whatever, you go to the “torrents” section and paste the magnet link/open your torrent file there. Then select “convert” and then you can download the torrent directly from their servers. It’s kind of like a seedbox that everyone shares, so that you don’t have to wait for seeds so long as at least one person has added the file to Debrid before.
Select the “premium offers” link to get started.
Because direct downloads are better and faster.

https://free-mp3-download.net/ (don’t use apostrophes in the search for this one)
You’re welcome.
Edit: Also, Real-Debrid if you want to directly download any torrent instantly at your connection’s maximum bandwidth (up to 1Gbps) without having to wait for seeds. But this one costs money. (It’s worth it, though, especially if you’re downloading a lot of 50GB+ AAA games like I am.)
Yeah it’s cause I just switched domains. Bad timing; sorry about that. It may take up to 12-24 hours for all DNS servers to update and correctly point to the website.
EDIT: Should be working now. (At least it is on my end)
