That is what I do. I have owned like 4 kvm switches. Even when I paid extra to get a “good” one they never lasted more than like a year or two. My USB switch has been going for about 3 years. Occasionally it glitches out and I have to unplug it from everything but it’s only about every 3-5 months

Lol and the title of your post implies Americans get “big mad” about this silliness. Looks like a pretty sad attempt at rage-baiting and then not understanding when it didn’t work

Unite as one humongous cock? That’s what they do all day every day.

TIL there is a name for this condition

I read the post as “dreadlock” like three times in a row lol. I have been employed as a developer for many years and I don’t think I’ve ever heard of “deadlock” as a named concept until now. The more you know.

Yes to all this. Mike Monteiro is a hero of mine

When haven’t we been? People will do any weird thing and call it a meme, least we can do it call them on it every now and then

You automate that shit, you never give them direct access to the source code, and you obfuscate the code that changes the opacity so that it’s really hard to find even if they manage to wrest control away from you. I did this once after the client failed to pay as agreed. They narrowly escaped their site being replaced with a message saying they did not pay their bill, by paying eventually, but I couldn’t let them get away with that shit if they decided to change passwords and tried to screw me completely.

I don’t think anyone shares these opinions and yet this gets reposted, what, every day?

If flac is almost the same as uncompressed, I think something is wrong.

Thanks. Are the posts inspired by the boycotts?

Never heard of Loblaw but today somehow I’m seeing many posts about it

Futo = fucked up to oblivion?

They’re not I’m sure, they just wanna bitch about a language without caring about why it is how it is.

If you’re living in 2002 and not using the strict equality operator, that’s on you

I use copilot every day and I have zero clue what this means but I assume it has nothing to do with copilot… ?

I think you over estimate it. I have loved Nintendo games since I was five, but absolutely fuck the company for doing shit like this.

So it’s just a wrapper for prettier?

Do you know what extensions are? They have extremely different use cases from websites themselves.

The obvious use case here and in most cases is to provide functionality that works with a variety of websites. I have no clue about this movie app stuff specifically but the extension might exist to allow you to view more data about a movie from a variety of websites such as imdb and rotten tomatoes.

I’ll try. Unfortunately my ISP showed up to connect my service and claimed I had to use their router so I’m a little stuck with whatever it can do

I finally got jellyfin working and I gotta say the UI is better than Plex in most ways, and it mostly works, but it is just a little glitchy at times. As one example, the auto play next episode feature has never worked in my browser. It will just stay stuck on “0 seconds until next episode starts”. That and for some reason I had trouble getting it setup on my streaming device on the same network… Local hostname wouldn’t work. Said it couldn’t find any servers locally on my network, so I had to use my IP address. So when (not if) that IP changes I’ll have to troubleshoot.

Once they smooth out issues like that, I may ditch Plex even though I paid for it.

Ok.

This looks cool, is it getting good reviews?

I really was asking. I did a little research and concluded any x86 machine I could buy would be too slow for reliable video playback unless I spent over $200. I am open to actually being wrong there though.

Well I can tell you that I owned both but I returned the orange pi because of several factors, but mainly it boiled down to the company feeling sketchy and the software support being far worse on the OPI. The day I was giving it a last chance, the OPI official website even went down!

It kinda feels like the only reason that is a viable board to use is because of some dude named Joshua Riek who maintains a flavor of Ubuntu for it… Their official OS flavors ranged between non-working and shitty tbh

This looks cool, is it getting good reviews?

I don’t know what a pi5+ is, unless you mean orange pi 5+?

I just bought a RPI 5 8GB (base price $80), all accessories in, for like $115. It never occurred to me that this would’ve been considered “expensive”, but a lot of people in this thread are saying so because rpis used to be $30. I mean the price has increased, but hasn’t the price of literally everything increased noticeably at the same time?

I missed this sentiment. Just bought my first RPI (5) and it’s a neat little toy. I have some pretty specific requirements I’ll have to work toward but I like tinkering with it. The size, price and low power consumption beat any of the mini PCs I found. Then again I’m probably out of the loop

I’m curious, what’s an example of a mini x86 machine comparable to a raspberry pi? I just did research and ended up buying a RPI 5. I may have not known what to look for, but what I found in the x86 space was $200+ and seemed pretty underwhelming compared to a $80 SBC on arm.

I would suggest you to use an Orange Pi+Armbian instead of a Raspberry Pi

Why? You gave no reasoning and they already have a raspberry pi. They are very similar in capability so if you’re going to suggest they buy a new thing you should at least give a single reason

I hate Amazon but there are several reasons I use them. Wide selection, free shipping, easy returns, and typically low prices. Every time I have tried avoiding Amazon for everything, I’ve run into annoying issues before long.

Also, sadly there are a lot of less common products that aren’t super available elsewhere. And even when they are, I feel like it’s a risk buying from some random website I’ve not dealt with before.

I wish others could/would compete with these advantages but most don’t. And no I don’t buy everything from Amazon but it is a safe fallback for the items I can’t get at better retailers.
