I don’t know if it’s still a thing, or how well it would work for your usages, but I used to use an Android emulator application on Windows called BlueStacks. Might be something to look into. I hope you find something that works well for you!

I honestly agree that it seems silly and kind of detracts from your comments to add that to all of them, and may seem spammy to some people, but I also am pretty sure I get where you’re coming from and kind of admire that you’re sticking to it and not giving a fuck that some people think it’s dumb or whatever. Ours does the exact same. Sometimes they even put an obfuscated link to a tweet that was very quickly deleted, so you just get an error and there’s no info unless you both log in and go searching their twitter for whatever tweet they may actually still have that has info. It’s pretty ridiculous.

Some Lemmy instances have downvotes, some don’t. It varies by instance. I think most instances have/allow downvotes. Beehaw & Blahaj are two bigger ones that don’t that I can think of off of the top of my head.

Also agreed with your last bit. I’m nervous about it, too. I wish people would just be decent and… not suck, lol.

Same here! I’m not overseas, but am signed up for absentee ballots due to disability, and I didn’t get anything either. I double checked on my state’s voting portal and I’m still properly signed up and everything. I guess there was just nothing for me to vote on. Which feels very weird.
