Once again I find myself thinking, “Dammit, Google!”

Thank you very much for the text summary, I really appreciate it :)

You’re my favorite customer!

Just in case it makes you feel any better: I’m a native English speaker who always aced the reading comprehension tests back in school, and I read it the exact same way. Lol! I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. :)

I’m not even 16, why do I feel ancient

I don’t know if this will help you, but I think that’s pretty normal. I felt similarly at your age in some ways and in other ways I felt like a baby, depending on how I looked at things. I still feel that way and I’m twice your age! It’s weird. Growing up is weird. I feel for you. 💖

Oh my goodness, I’m listening to a cover of Lola by The Kinks (that repeatedly says “La la la lo-Lola,” in case you’re not familiar with it) when I saw your comment and username! What a neat coincidence.

a smartphone screenshot showing what the commenter is listening to with lolola's comment in the background

Is your username choice a reference to that song, by any chance?

Try not to suck any dick on the way to the parking lot!

I don’t know if it’s still a thing, or how well it would work for your usages, but I used to use an Android emulator application on Windows called BlueStacks. Might be something to look into. I hope you find something that works well for you!

Yo dawg, we heard you like X, so we put X in your X, so you can X while you X!

A lot of ActivityPub software that federates with Lemmy does that tag thing automatically; like Mastodon, for example.

I had no idea that there were Pokémon fan games! The possibility never even crossed my mind, for whatever reason. How cool! Good luck with Keishou!

I honestly agree that it seems silly and kind of detracts from your comments to add that to all of them, and may seem spammy to some people, but I also am pretty sure I get where you’re coming from and kind of admire that you’re sticking to it and not giving a fuck that some people think it’s dumb or whatever. That’s pretty cool.

And, really, it’s not like you’re hurting anyone by adding that link to your comments. Who cares? Do yo thang, buddy. :)

That’s awesome of you to offer to help seed! I appreciate people like you :)

Don’t worry, you likely won’t be persecuted by millenials; because everyone always forgets about Gen X, remember? ;)

Yep, I learned a good bit of it in school. That shit’s helpful.

Ours does the exact same. Sometimes they even put an obfuscated link to a tweet that was very quickly deleted, so you just get an error and there’s no info unless you both log in and go searching their twitter for whatever tweet they may actually still have that has info. It’s pretty ridiculous.

From someone in the US, smack dab in the middle of very dense Republican land (Oklahoma,) I want you to know that you’ve nailed it! You’re spot on. I wish you were exaggerating, lol.

Some Lemmy instances have downvotes, some don’t. It varies by instance. I think most instances have/allow downvotes. Beehaw & Blahaj are two bigger ones that don’t that I can think of off of the top of my head.

Also agreed with your last bit. I’m nervous about it, too. I wish people would just be decent and… not suck, lol.

It’s nice to see you here on Beehaw, mister Mustaine!

Ooh, I’m looking forward to reading this - this whole fiasco seemed so ridiculous and dramatic and hilarious to me. Thanks for sharing it here! Also, great usage of the fun word “imbroglio!”

Same here! I’m not overseas, but am signed up for absentee ballots due to disability, and I didn’t get anything either. I double checked on my state’s voting portal and I’m still properly signed up and everything. I guess there was just nothing for me to vote on. Which feels very weird.

I hope everything is all correct with your information and you get a ballot properly next time! Thanks for opting in in the first place and for checking to make sure it’s still set up right - thanks for voting!

Thank goodness!! I’m proud of and thankful for everyone who made it happen!
