I would rather recommend using KeepassXC, and storing and syncing the database with your other devices using Syncthing. Supereasy to set up, and works flawlessly with my pc and my phone.
KeepassXC has nice features like global autotype btw, so for webpages i can insert my payment information with one hotkey. no need to save your CC in your browser.
I wanted to swap to Pop!OS a few months ago, but since i’m an Nvidia user, I am waiting until Wayland plays nice with Nvidias drivers regarding explicit sync and everything gets rolled into Pop!OS.
I always was a Windows user because games, but with ProtonGE the “games” argument started falling flat, and MS is getting more and more intrusive. I do like VRR and Multimonitor setups tho, so X seemed like a poor choice, and Wayland/Nvidia is just not ready yet.
For everyone in the same boat, just keep an eye on this link: Explicit GPU Synchronization for DRI3, Present, and Xwayland
I just looked it up and yes, you can install kodi on it: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/steam-link-install-kodi/
the latest kodi release for steam link is pretty old tho, dating from 2019. https://github.com/garbear/kodi-steamlink/releases
i personally just stream my desktop and then use jellyfin/plex or my browser for whatever media i need.
I hate that i have to agree with you.
Last time my wife was watching a movie. It was a local file, and when i walked by, i saw that it was at max 720p and a bit choppy. I remarked that she should tell me which movie it was so i can replace it.
She asked “why would you?” - and i know that her eyes are in perfect shape. She simply does not recognize it when a video plays at crap quality, and she would have to search hard in the above pictures, while i saw the difference in an instant.
She hates ads just like me tho, so a pirates life it is for her :-)
That gave a really nice overview for someone who hasn’t had to dabble in IPV6 yet, thanks!
