I’m shocked I tell you. Shocked! Who could have seen this coming!?

Kingdoms and Castles would fit here. It’s been getting slow but steady updates for years.

Because the GBA never played Gameboy games, and the Wii never played GameCube games, and the Wii U never played Wii games, right?

From people that don’t use Reddit regularly, the only way they have ever heard about it is from Google results. So good luck with unloading a whole clip into your foot guys 🙄

“they can just patch the game and crank out new features as dlc” does not have the same meaning as “buy a fucking DLC to apply a performance patch”

Forums, websites, and Github as mentioned in the OP. All those are publicly searchable and prime targets for takedown requests once they get big enough

One big plus for Discord is that you can essentially lock it down to people who are interested in your project, instead of the entire public to browse. This hurts searching for answers, but helps immensely for projects that can be taken down like romhacks and speed running tools for example

The whole reason RaPi got so big was its price point, because it offered so much capability that was essentially disposable in case the worst happened to your project. As long as it costs more than $35 I will not be interested.

This is the reason my house has:

  • mechanical locks
  • mechanical windows
  • routers using OpenWRT
  • no smart home crap
  • no Alexa/Google Assistant/…
  • no internet connected thermostats

Oh THAT’S how you do it? That was one feature of Chrome that I couldn’t figure out how to do with Firefox. Thanks!

No, it likely is sending your UUID to a sever and comparing it to a list to see if it’s a duplicate

Rogue Legacy has this as its whole gimmick. The second one is pretty good!

Not everyone is interacting with ML on a frequent basis. If it’s your first foray and you’re running into issues, these would be good tips to try if you’ve never experienced it before.

I was pretty tolerant of YouTube ads up until a year ago, when they started playing unskippable food ads which I morally disagree with. No amount of “not relevant” made them go away so I’m hardcore ad-free now. I even tried YouTube premium until they decided to jack up the price on my second month of having it, so fuck em

I read this as “YouTube will push even harder for non-skippable ads, and content creators can’t stop them anymore”

Xbox One announcement (E3 2013): "YOU CAN TAKE MY DISKS FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!

Current Year (2023): “Disks are outdated and dead, who needs em anyway?”

Y’all forget way too easily and they are starting to prey upon it.

Every platform is different. The maintenance manual won’t tell you as it’s not part of maintenance. If you really want a piece of literature then you’ll need a factory service manual, but no offense if you don’t know what you’re doing you WILL cause damage to your vehicle (or even yourself if you accidentally mess with the airbags)

Cars are built in modules, so there is definitely something you could disconnect to prevent it phoning home. You might need to take the dashboard apart though.

There is nothing preventing the car from starting and running without it. As long as you have a key fob it will attempt to start.

I was pretty on-board with FFXV until the exact moment I realized the boat portion was supposed to lead you to a LOT of cut content instead of literally 1 other area. Definitely left a bad taste after that. I feel like it could have been a masterpiece if not for issues during development that I can noticeably feel the effects of during gameplay

I think it’s worse here on Lemmy tbh

Edit: wait fuck did I just do it by accident?

I’ve run into an issue once in the advanced power options in Windows. Under “processor power management” check to see what the minimum and maximum processor states are.

(note: don’t set the maximum to a low number, it makes the computer unusable. Found out the hard way lol)

Samsung phones aren’t very custom-ROM friendly

Boy how the times change. Back in my day, Samsung devices had their own dedicated community. RIP SDX-developers

Just picked up the HD remake and was thrilled to see someone made a mod to patch out the film grain and motion blur. I’m puking rainbows.

Huh that’s not what I expected Dunk to look like. He’s really good in front of the camera, too

Why send it to the cloud when Excel is running on a perfectly capable hunk of silicon? That’s doesn’t make a lick of sense to me

Remembah to wash under ya foreskin. If ya don’t, ya go ta hell before ya die.

“10 1/4 Inches” - they knew what they were doing

Guess the UK better get used to seeing “We’re sorry, [AppName] is no longer available on your country.”

“RDBMS-backed CRUD persistence patterns” sounds totally like fake techno-jargon in a low-budget action movie
