It’s not a good ratio, but assuming they managed to fill the three developer positions they were intending to when this interview was given last year and no one has left since then, that’s 5 full time employees to 5 board members. I can’t find more up-to-date numbers on the employee count unfortunately.

I’m probably a bit late to reply, but… He was @ mentioned in the body of the original post, which Mastodon would have notified him of because mas.to is federating. Opening the notification would bring him to this thread on Mastodon, where everything would appear as it normally does when viewing a thread on Mastodon. From there, you can hold a conversation as normal with notifications and all. Unless you were looking at instance URLs, you probably wouldn’t even notice the user you’re replying to isn’t on Mastodon themselves.

Beauty of federation! It (mostly) just works!

Well that’s disappointing but pretty expected. The Acer AH101-D8EY was my first VR headset. I can’t imagine why it didn’t catch on.

That doesn’t really apply to Lemmy’s content though, since unlike Lemmy.world, Threads users won’t be able to create /c/ communities. If a Threads user wants to post to a community in a way that Lemmy recognizes them, they’ll have to post it to one under a Lemmy instance’s control, or Lemmy users won’t see a thing.

That makes sense I suppose. A company that doesn’t outright lie about how their service works would have more goodwill behind it, wouldn’t it.

So it really is the exact same thing as Nothing Chats then? I don’t think I trust them any more than Sunbird…

That sounds exactly like what what Nothing Chats was shamed for a couple weeks ago, how has Beeper been fairing so well?

YouTube has this thing where you can set multiple thumbnails (it will show a different one every time YouTube displays it) and see which one gets the most clicks, then use that one.

It’s so weird, it’s like they want to keep people away more than anything else

Oh, so they’re like, actually making something with all that money, huh. Wow

There’s kinda a precedent for that already though in Minecraft, the other mega-franchise cross-platforms game that “everyone” buys.

They can’t even manage to beat Steam on their own OS to be fair lol

I, for one, am curious as to what products I could purchase from Lockheed-Northrop-Boeing-Pepsico

Wait where are you getting these things new for that price? I’m interested, but the lowest I can find is this. I brought up ebay because it was lowest price I could find, but if they’re even cheaper new, I could use one.

I don’t know, I think that might be overstating it a bit. Even the highest cost 8GB Pi 4 model tops out at $75 without accessories but I can only find 2 listings on Ebay at the moment for MFF PCs that can beat that price, also without accessories.

It’s so much fun, I legitimately enjoyed it more than the last few Pokémon games. I haven’t enjoyed a monster collecting game that much since Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Highly recommend it.

What the other comment said, but also for an example of a Godot game on Switch, check out Cassette Beasts!

Sure, I tried the same app actually, but it needing to go over the network was a pretty big drawback. This sounds like a wired connection that will be recognized as a camera by any PC.

I hate that this is only just now coming in Android 14. I have old phones I would love to be able to set up as webcams for 3D print monitoring, but of course they haven’t been updated in years and will never get this feature.

Hey same I don’t know why it doesn’t work. I need to use my server’s local IP when I connect from inside my house.

When did Unity as a company get so bad? I remember a time when the engine had a poor reputation for things like “looking worse than Unreal” but I feel like the company has been making a lot of terrible moves lately that I never heard anything comparable to back then.

I was going to say, I know Cassette Beasts released on Switch and it uses the Godot engine, so there’s no way it doesn’t support consoles.

I just started last night, but that was immediately the vibe I was getting. Not a bad thing so far, but I never did finish Skyrim, so I guess I’ll see if this goes the same way…

I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took a laser in the knee.

Sorry, when I say mine, I mean the one I signed up for, not the one I run

It’s pretty nice. My instance, ohai.social, implemented it already and it’s certainly convenient.

It is funny though since they blocked the piracy community

I think Twitter might do it to standardize the number of characters a link takes up in a tweet? 23 characters IIRC

Didn’t the Quest Pro do that? I think AR virtual monitors on Mac was a thing they showcased.

Very on-brand for The Pokemon Company to do something the wrong way. I just knew that Android at least doesn’t let you access the camera without the app open and the screen on, so I had assumed it would be the same thing with the microphone access it wants for tracking sleep.

Nope, averyminya is right. It needs to be on to track your sleep for some reason. I assume it’s an OS limitation for privacy reasons.

Exactly, I have a Galaxy watch myself and it does a fine job of tracking my sleep despite how old it is. They made Pokemon Go able to sync walking data with the system health app so they game could reward you even without it open. I don’t know why they missed that for Pokemon Sleep, especially with all the delays

I’m really not a fan of this game because of having to leave your phone on all night long with it plugged in. For multiple reasons, but the fire hazard is definitely one of them. Why couldn’t it sync up with other passive sleep trackers, like smart watches?

This is the first I’ve heard of it. Why would someone willingly host an exit node when the risks are so high?

Is Celeste new to GamePass or is this a returning title? I remember playing it on PC somehow but I only bought it on Switch.

Edit: It was free Epic Games
