Damn, Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time so if Lies of P is anywhere as good as that I have to put it on my radar.

Have you played Bloodborne? If so, why do you prefer Lies of P over it?

They might have sold it to a competitor so this could be a big deal. Not to mention this was one of Billet Lab’s only prototype and could’ve set them back months in terms of R&D.

I caved and bought it at full price 😭 Responsible spending habits are a capitalist conspiracy.

I live in one of those places and we don’t have regional pricing. When Steam starts offering competitive pricing in Africa I’ll start buying games at full price but for the moment I’ll stick to buying games on sale and piracy.

I get what you mean but not everyone can afford $60 games. In some parts of the world that’s more than half a month’s salary.

I didn’t pay full price for it and I’m being punished for it. The pirated copy I downloaded had a virus on it :(

The game is brilliant though! Shoving people into pits is the best class hands down.

I’m jealous of your internet speed! I’m getting 5MB/s down so I’ll have to play it tomorrow too :(

I remember buying War For Cybertron for the PS3 off of a 9/10 review on IGN. This was back when I could only afford to get one or two games a year so it’s mediocrity stung so bad. Was one of my first experiences with buyer’s remorse.

I see. Well we could always ask the admins. I’d even be willing to contribute $5 for the logo of the new sub to get the unfunny memes off this sub 😂

How about creating a separate sub for that kind of content? It worked well for Reddit. They have r/games for discussion and r/gaming for memes and shitposts.

Disco Elysium’s writing revels in it’s excess and I love it for what it is in game, but I don’t think I’d be able to handle reading about the Franconigerian calvary without Lenval Brown’s silky-sultry voice narrating it to me.

It’s been a year since I finished this game and I’ve thought about it every single week since then.

Judging by their username this person seems to be a troll.

I agree with you on the first point. I just don’t think the creators of Threes! had a valid reason in trying to get 2048 taken down from the app store.

Do you have an Android alternative to appdb?

It can be improved by not sending me 5 consecutive 2s while I’m fighting for my life on the last row of the board 😂

3000 games is mad! It really is addictive.

To add to this discussion, what do you all think of the controversy surrounding 2048 and Threes? I think 2048 is different enough to not be considered a copy; it has nowhere near the depth or the polish of Threes! I just think art is iterative. We should have the freedom to take ideas from other works of art and build something new.

A love letter to Threes!
Dear Threes! You may have been overshadowed by your simpler (and in my opinion, uglier) younger sister 2048, but in my eyes you're the real catch! You're dripping with charm from head to toe. Every part of you has been crafted with love and care. Your soundtrack is so playful and catchy, I find myself humming it randomly throughout the day. Oh and your characters! Each of your little number tiles has a name, design and voiceline! It's absolutely endearing. The best part about you is there's so much depth to go with your charm. You're deceptively deep with your easy to learn but hard to master gameplay. What starts out as smooshing two tiles together grows into planning 3 moves ahead and creating a priority queue so you don't trap a low point tile in the middle of the board. I've been playing you off and on for half a decade and I still havent beat you! We've drifted away from time to time but I'm so glad I've found you again. I'm coming for that 3072 tile and sooner or later I will beat you. With love, Bijuice P.S pls tell your creator to enable the paid version of the app in Kenya. I'm sick of watching ads.

She’s my favorite character! Either I kill everything on the first turn or get stuck in Wrath and die immediately 😂

I feel you on the after-work blues. For me, it pushes me towards arcadey games cause I don’t have the energy to invest in a good story.

Are you an intrinsically or extrinsically motivated gamer?
I've always found myself bouncing off hard on "make your own fun" type games like Minecraft or the newer Zeldas. This extends to any type of game that has no clear goals or motivators. Turns out I'm just an extrinsically motivated gamer. For me, it's about the destination, not the journey. I enjoy games that keep me going with rewards promised at each step of the way. When given the choice to be creative with the tools I'm given, I'll just find the most efficient way of getting it done. I'd like to hear what type of gamers y'all are. What type of games bring you joy?

The Bloodborne soundtrack is phenomenal but my absolute favorite track is the Abyss Watchers theme. It just makes me feel some typpa way.
