Pokemon ROGUE EX a ROM hack to turn Pokémon into a rogue like (or lite or whatever). You reset to home everytime you lose all Pokémon and you earn money and get new Pokemon to start with. It’s a lot of fun. I beat the second gym, is as far as I am.

One of the gen 9 pokemon games. I think violet?

I was out with my wife’s family coordinating with my brother by text trying to get it downloaded.

For sure.

At some point, your services could easily warrent it. If you learn it early, it makes it much easier to organize your services and share them with others if you decide to.

Also, if you do decide to use a domain name, you probably won’t be able to use it internally to your network. If you use Adguard, you can use DNS rewrite to only direct your traffic to your server when you’re in your network.

Also, personally, I use nginx, but I’m more than happy to give you any advice on setup or reverse proxy.

I know you didn’t want to, but I’ll bet two navidrome instances will be faster and lighter than JF or Plex.

You can disable downloading if your music is copyrighted. Or a layer for copy left of someone tries to take credit.

I don’t think you’re supposed to host music you don’t have the rights to. I think you’re supposed to post your own music

I’ll need to looking into what s3 is, if it’s someone to consider.

Thank you!

Looking for a good, cheap backup solution.
I've been using pCloud to back up only the most important information. The stuff that's hard to get back if something bad happens. Kept in sync with rclone. Now I think it's time to scale up. I have 1 computer with 4 hard drives plugged up to it. I want to either back up the whole things. I'm thinking of something like backblaze. What does everyone here do for backups?
fedilink

Why do you think it’s firewalled?

Does the web gui work, and just the torrents are failing?

I assume you didn’t forget to open the port on the machine. I made that mistake and it took forever to figure out

If you like Pokemon, check out cassette beasts. Or one of hundreds of Pokemon mods.

This was by far my favorite 3DS game. It was just perfect.

How does ente photos compare to immich?

I’ll admit, I have no idea what the benefit of port forwarding is. I use Mullvad in a Gluten container.

Interesting. Do you just listen on Random all the time, with maybe favorites or whatever?

Users with personal music libraries, how do you decide what to download?
I recently made a post asking about getting spotify cheaper via vpn. My question to everyone: how do you decide what to download? Do you just grab everything, do you use last fm, do you erase music that you never listen to?
fedilink

You’re the best. Only one to actually answer my question.

I’ll be doing this tonight. Thank you so much

Fun story. I never really considered myself an audiophile. At first, I downloaded every song I had as an mp3 or YouTube rip.

Then I ran out of storage space and built a music server.

Then I discovered deemix. At the time completely free

I know deemix wouldn’t last. I redownloaded every song I had as flac, knowing I can’t Begin to take advantage of it. Storage is cheap and I have unlimited data.

So a dap is in my future. Probably in my car. And after some research

I want to listen at work, and paying $20 a year is worth not having to get something potentially malicious

Yeah, this is my current solution. I was hoping I could do cheap enough to just get legal

Is a gift card the way to do it?

I thought I’d be doing a subscription.

So how do I get the gift cards?

Lol. Yes.

I download most of my music, but I haven’t gotten a new song in like a year and a half, so I want cheap, desktop something for the once in a while listening.

My wife has an iPhone and pays full price, this is also motivation

How are you people faking location to get a better price for subscriptions?
Spotify wants me to have a card from said county. I read that you can use PayPal, but they want a phone number from that country. Any advice? Edit: I'm aware that there are a lot of solutions to get it for free. I'm aware that I can just download my music. Currently, I'm running running navidrome for my downloaded music and x manager Spotify for myself. My wife has an iPhone. I don't want to download her music. But she's paying full price for Spotify. I also like to listen from my work desktop. I have administrative rights, but it would be really dumb to download something like this to my work machine. In several countries, I can get Spotify for like $30 dollars a year for 2 people. This price would be worth moving to legal. Especially for her, since she's paying $11 right now

I don’t disagree?

They’re going to try what they’re going to try. This won’t sway me, but it might sway someone. In which case, that user is subsidizing me

I use Slskd

Runs as a web app, so I can remotely start downloads and have them drop into my music server

All my music is properly tagged. Navidrome can combine artists and albums across the folder.

Then it’s just down to Deemix to grab it properly tagged. Most of my music is artist/album/song, but plenty is loose or in just artist folders.

I also do keepassxc, dx on Android, and syncthing to keep them updated. What is it you paid for?

Depending how into computers you are, you can get pretty fancy with your setup.

I run slskd on my home computer, through a VPN and access it through the Internet by domain

You might check out privacy guides instead of privacy tools. Basically, the owner of privacy tools wouldn’t make changes that the community wanted, causing privacy guides to be formed.

Read both, form your own opinion. I don’t like how tools has what amounts to ads on it.

Privacyguides.org https://lemmy.one/c/privacyguides

Disagree. It takes very little time to pirate something. Anything.

Also, there are a lot of numbers between 0 and 60 that someone may be willing to pay to play a game. But for a modern game with DLC and stuff, more like 120.

So someone can ignore the ads, ignore not being able to chose a song, and ignore no download. But having to open musixmatch in a separate app is the straw that broke the camels back

Also, if you’re up for the self-hosted life, what comes next is a music server. If you have good access to WiFi or unlimited data, this eliminates storage as a bottle neck. I recommend Navidrome. But something like Jellyfin or Plex can do Movies and TV, if you want a 1 size fits all.

If you’re not, look into Syncthing. You chose a folder on your computer and one on your phone and this app keeps them in sync. After that, my favorite player was GoneMad. It’s offline, with real support for music tags. This allowed song ratings and real smart playlists

Skip Lidarr for your initial move. Use Deemix. You can find links to premium ARLs on the wiki or with a google search (or DM me).

Deemix has an option to sign in with your Spotify account and download playlists. There’s a weird song count limit, and you may have to manually hit some tracks. But this is the way.

You can also do Flac with this setup. You don’t necessarily need it, but if you’re making the move, I recommend it. Since Flac is lossless, there’s never going to be an upgrade.

It can be argued that the libreoffice dude is providing a service. If you were deeply invested in the windows ecosystem, with most of your apps coming from the store and you also have like 20 windows computers, buying it for $10 is totally worth it.

1 click install and auto updates being the advantage. Not to mention a centralized way to make sure all your machines are running the same version.

It’s not like it’s a subscription or per machine license.

If you’re looking for a round about solution, you can use whatever IPTV provider and link it to your Jellyfin.

This only makes any sense if you’re already using Jellyfin, of course

Fun fact. The Wii 2 was called the Wii u because the Japanese word for 2 is ‘ni’.

Is there any good way to pirate Rock band 4 DLC for ps4?
I have a full set of instruments on ps4 with at least a hundred songs of dlc. Is this something people do regularly?

Homarr with torrent/jellyseerr security
I'm interested in running a service like homarr. This would give my family access to view stuff easily, and I could link to the rest of my services. My main concern is linking jellyseerr, and giving what could be strangers access to make requests. Is anyone out there using a home screen with seerr capability? How is it working for you?

What Pokémon Go could’ve been.
By now, it's well known that Pokémon Go sucks. My biggest problem with it is just how shallow it is. It's like a minimum viable product with a vaguely addicting gameplay loop. Here is a short list of ideas that could've made the game more interesting. Pretty much every problem boils down to "but implementing this would've made us lose money" Pokestops could've been "typed". Like "hospital" could've been a free heal or have better healing item rates. "Museum" could've been the place to get fossil Pokémon, or maybe revive fossils that you find from regular stops. Maybe a grocery store would've had better item rates. A school could've been a move relearner. Maybe some Pokémon only evolve at church, or at an amusement park. The lures could've done something similar, turning normal stops into typed stops. They had so much power at their disposal. They ran on Google maps, ffs. The friend system is just so stupid. For some reason, it's the best way to farm items? Why can I send a gift at no personal cost to someone else and they receive items? This caused communities to form where people just share friend codes. Also, the fact that theirs a limit to how many you can open a day, and that each one must be opened individually taking about 10 seconds is to cause you to form either habit or routine. Friends should be people you know or maybe people who live in your area, so you can get to know people. The battle system is weird, but I don't explicitly hate it. It's more interactive than mainline, and that's fine. The shadow system is dumb, and designed to be extremely addictive. A small rotation of Pokémon with higher attack, lower defense isn't a horrible idea. But the rates are so hard you're encouraged to log on just to fight rocket balloons. Why does trading randomize stats? I'm obviously trading because I want their Pokémon. Not just any Pokémon of that species. Why is there no way to increase appraisal stats? This is what the buddy system should've been. Like raising stats of a Chao from Sonic Adventure 2. Work hard, and reset the Pokémon frequently to slowly increase their stats overtime. Maybe every 10 km as your buddy increased 1 IV by 1 point. This would've been great for Shiny Pokémon. Instead, having a good shiny just means you're lucky. I hate the limited time moves so much. If you evolve your Pokémon at the wrong time, it can be less than half as useful. The only fix is to pay a lot of money for an elite TM.

Looking for a better SMS system.
I'm very tired of SMS being horrible and necessary. Matrix has a bridge for SMS, but it doesn't work very well. There's other SMS bridges, no idea how well they work. Does anyone have a good solution for dealing with SMS?

Best self hosted photo manager for multi user
My wife is using Google Photos, and I've been using Photoprism for a few months. I just had a baby, and I access to download the pictures that my wife takes. I'm not too sure of what I want. I guess I want two separate libraries, but I want to be able to view her pictures easily and add them into my library. I believe if I spin up a second photoprism instance, I'd have to download her pictures individually and reupload them into my instance. What do any of you do? Do you even host photo storage for your family?
