Seriously? Maybe try to take another look because that couldn’t be father from reality!

A german Youtuber made a great video about that titles “not AI will replace you, your boss will”

Funfact, the shitpapers of Axel Springer plan to use fully fletched AI generated articles since ChatGPT came out, in that case I can’t see any way to decrease the quality further tho!

Youtube never was a especially profitable business on it’s own, they basically just need it for the traffic but I guess they might try to change that, if that’s the case the logical next step would be dropping independent creators! :/

Luckily Libretube and Piped still work so I haven’t had to visit the normal Youtube site in ages, I do know Youtube increased their aggression towards third party frontends too tho so we will see how long the Newpipe extractor will work I guess!

That sounds great, I think one of the biggest issues of Matrix is the feature packed default client, it can’t be easy with that much stuff in it and it isn’t ideal for most use cases because it tries to cover all. The official client is the one new users will try and in case of a chat app that should be a simple chat app like Whatsapp or signal, just without the extra crap!

Well, everybody is entitled to a own opinion but I highly recommend that Internet Historian video because you certainly don’t seem to understand the degree of garbage they did with Fallout 76, I am definitely happy they don’t force there launcher anymore tho!

Yes, a LOT of things! Fallout76 is the worse example (the internet historian video about it is good), Fallout 4 to some extend, the endless rereleases of Skyrim with no additional value, their shitty launcher, their constant selling of rippoff merch and so on. It’s a terribke company that was good ages ago and still profits from their prior reputation, well and now it’s owned by Microsoft too!

Not sure if you know what you vouch for here, I definitely don’t want to see that ugly face every day!

At least they don’t tread modders like Rockstar, well at least not yet I guess.

You forgot Fallout76 and their own shitty launcher, well and the fact that Microsoft bought them already…

They dropped it during or right after (can’t remember for sure) their massive layoffs where they fired like half of their best employees for no reason, that’s also when Servo died! :(

Tf did you smoke today? I definitely want that stuff too!

What really amazes me as a european is that while I still think we have to work too much for our modern times we only do a fraction of your average work hours and that cases no issues whatsoever.

I actually wouldn’t mind that if AI halucinated a little less but at that point you don’t need the crappy standard that is the web ether!

The main issue here is how aggressive Fuckbook is when it comes to the messager, since they started to hide it on mobile devices they fucked with every attempt to revive that functionality with a none Fuckbook apps till the creator gave up. They are bad enough with normal clients (most of those died for a reason) but somehow even worse when it comes to the messager!

Soulseek using Nicotine+ is the best solution I found so far, if you are happy with worse quality you can alos get it from Youtube but on Soulseek you often find flac and mp3 to choose from, just make sure to redistribute a little too! ;)

Try to make a proper comparison (Hollywood is massive and the studios and co. are shit) and phrase it with EA, Ubisoft or Blizard, I bet game pirates won’t agree with you whatsoever!

I don’t want to fund the extremely unethical industry behind all of this and think piracy is the only way to oppose the rediculess hellscape that is the current copyright system so if anything it’s wrong to buy the movies in the first place.

What a shitty clickbait title, there are many lawsutes all over the world to decide if the use of public data for AI training without permission is against copyright laws and you could probably write hundread articles with that title…

I have absolutely no clue, I just remember what it did and that I tried it a few too many times in a row back then.

Yes I don’t understand the exact mechanisms but I did my research and no one could verify all of those huge codebases, we have experts in public so normal people can do their research and no I don’t have to read every line and understand the mathematical formular to recommend secure tools…

On one hand the corpo speak annoys me bit on the other would we really want another Linus statment?

Our Families Windows XP Laptop had a RAM to storage feature that essentially did the same. I think Windows killed it off but if I had to guess it’s just not a good idea to avoid rebooting properly so I really can’t see the use for this.

I copy pasted that because I have two basically identical arguments rn, just wanted to add that I do have a ad blocker but that doesn’t work everywhere ads are shown, especially IRL…

It’s not about smart or stupid, ads use various mechanisms to manipulate you and noone is completely immune to them, when you spend your money it’s too late already because you have bias no matter how slight it is and once you are presented with two idendically good products that bias starts to show. Here is a great German video on the topic, I don’t know if the subtitles are usable but it’s far too big and complex to explain in a single comment and I don’t care to try rn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etkeGVNRVYA

The goal of ads isn’t obviouse because it’s subconscious influence on you that often shows up ages after you actually watched the ad. It’s not a “buy now” but rather produce E.g. good feelings around a brand or product by showing you feelgood content and the less you care about the actual ad the more likely you are to ultimately fall for it. The by far biggest issue is that you won’t notice once you fall for it tho because you just made a choice between multiple products and the influence only showed up subconsciously rather than “I noticed that in a ad” which is why they still work, everybody likes to think they are the exception it doesn’t work on but that’s not how exceptions work!

That’s not the issue, the less you care about the ad itself the more likely you are to process it’s message subcaughously and we simply don’t have the energy actively observe all the ads we are bombarded with…

Not especially high ones as recent years have shown but at least still better than nothing!

Everyone is influenced by ads but the tines you re you view as your choice. Immediate purchases aren’t the goal of most ads, it’s mainly uncaughous influence for the next time you have to choose between a few products!
