Same, but I recently moved to UBlue. Really good experiences so far. That distro is bulletproof.

Debug, you say? Windows is way harder to keep running than Linux. At least an immutable distro like UBlue. You don’t need to debug anything. Just get it running, get some shit installed over the top, and it will auto update forever. I’ve got lots of relatives living comfortably that way for years now. If they were running Windows, it would be a support call every week and a fresh install every 2 years.

Now, Mac I’ll grant you. A Mac will also just keep running forever. But you can run nearly every Windows game on Linux and almost none of them on Mac. And Mac requires special hardware.

And then the person saying that FF blows because Google is the default browser uses… a Chromium wrapper.

How did Trump “engage in insurrection” though? He said some firey stuff to a rally, then didn’t stop it when it was happening, but that’s all I know about.

People are desperate to justify stealing stuff, cus no one wants to be the bad guy in their own head.

“Gas prices going up? To the high seas I go!”

What does “cli” have to do with anything? Also, this is terrible for many other reasons.

If you don’t like “the pimp middleman in between”, I can only assume you exclusively consume your entertainment on subway platforms and pay with dollar bills, which is great, and good for you, but I like to support creators and live a comfortable life. Some of my money goes to Bandcamp, Patreon and Google. You do you.

“Mole rat”. haha, cute. I’m not worth your top-shelf stuff, trust me. Save it for your English teacher.

I never use Chrome or anything Chromium based. You sound like you use Brave.

But if someone offers me an entertainment service at a price, I pay, or don’t use it. You’re not some noble pirate, you’re just a cheap ass who wants to consume other people’s hard work for free.

They said a faster one was unlikely. This isn’t faster, so, they were the best kind of correct, unfortunately. Are you able to return yours, by chance?

He sent some random Twitter employee to Home Depot to buy a sink, then went out to get it just to walk back in the door with it and a shit-eating grin.

The new Rust library is really solid. Once things start moving to that instead of rolling their own, it will get a lot more smooth.

Yeah, I do wish they just let you disable encryption for all rooms at a server level. But years ago people gave the team so much shit for not supporting encryption that they added really good encryption, but it makes things harder. Nothing is free.

I don’t think they had the option as the minority.

But they should have voted for McCarthy. I knew that was gonna blow up in everyone’s face. Why did they think they were gonna end up with anyone better?

The moderates refused to vote for the other nut jobs. Did they just get tired or bored or something?

As long as you never store the same data in two places, documents are fine. But if you’re gonna store my name along with my id on the post you’re describing, then forget it. Your entire life is pain from now on and you will not give a single shit about join efficiencies, or converting between docs and relational, or maybe even your family, pets or home.

You absolutely choose to be a member of the House of Representatives and the Democratic Party. Way more so than most parents choose to have kids. It can be shockingly easy to have a kid, but it’s a bit of A Thing to be elected to the House.

Lol. As an adult myself, I have yet to give up even though my kids have been acting like children for years now. You’re not actually that responsible if it’s only in small bursts when you feel like it.

It’s not a good look and they should have left him in. They are supposed to be the adults who do what’s best for the country, and instead of leaving a guy in place who has shown at least some inclination to break with the nut jobs and do what’s right, they are letting the entire chamber shut down until who knows when and some equivalent or worse republican is stood up in his place.

Is that what happened? Or did the White House point out Tweets that violated Twitter’s ToS, like any citizen or corporation could do.

They will add this to the long list of things they patch out. But at some point, maintaining these patches is going to be more work than they can handle.

Well, what else are you gonna do? ES is proven and battle tested.

Yeah, that’s why I didn’t like it. I just couldn’t buy the premise that Oppenheimer was some kind of martyr because he got his security clearance revoked and couldn’t use a free house anymore. The producers had to go out of their way to ignore an interesting story and focus on boring hearings and unimportant nonsense.

And it also couldn’t be installed on any phone.

What company are you talking about, and why are you saying that here? Beeper does not take or want your iCloud password.

EDIT: I’m wrong.

But your example just referred to someone by their old name. Not saying you’re wrong, but that’s a terrible example. Haha

Better example would be: Friend says, “Hey John, how are you! Remember when you used to go by Jim? Boy, those were crazy times back then.”

Is that deadnaming?

EDIT: my bad. Just re-read the OP post and your example is dead on. For some reason I had it different in my head. Never mind!

He was pretty clear through that whole video that he didn’t know what he was doing. That video was purely for entertainment, and it was obvious from the first minute.

I thought you had to refer to a person by their old name for that to be the case, not just mention the existence of a former name. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I mean, I’m not telling anyone what they should do. If gaming is more important to you than privacy, game away, and don’t let anyone make you feel bad about it. Personally, it’s an easy call for me, mostly because so many games are playable now. There’s a few than I can’t run on Linux, and that’s fine, I just don’t play those. If no games ever worked… maybe that’s a harder call.

Tangent here for sure, but have you considered running QuickBooks in a VM? I’ve got a couple Windows-only apps myself, but I keep them wrapped in a VM that I only spin up when needed.

I suppose, though, if you need to run them 9-5, there’s not much point.
