Jellyfin is so much better man, once setup. It’s basically the dream.

I hate most ISPs for sure. I’m stuck with my local monopoly.

But nonetheless my experience is still: pay $X, get constantly high bandwidth results. That’s all I mean.

Similarly, torrenting is all over the place. But if you pay good Usenet backbone and indexers, you get a similarly reliable product.

Definitely ISPs suck ass at everything besides taking your money and providing internet.

Usenet. The speed, reliability, volume of content. It has been unmatched for me.

The setup is slightly more annoying than torrenting, but also more professional and less sketchy. It is as if torrenting had a real ISP-style customer service experience.

You should redo your org from scratch and let all the default plugins do the work. Mine looks great and I never changed anything, just followed the recommended file org pattern for Movies and TV Shows.

I was a skeptic and now I’ll never go back to torrents.

Jellyfin is on the LG OS store, so if your home theater has an LG TV, it’s phenomenal. I can’t recommend getting the high end LG TVs enough if you’re self hosting. Between Swiftfin on an iPad if you’re quietly in bed, or LG in the home theater, they’re all native platform apps and slay. No need from browser otherwise.

This is elite self-hosting, lol. I want more of this content.

I will DM later when I’m in front of it. I use Frugal Usenet for my backbone which doesn’t need an invite.

It’s so great. I might have an invite if OP wants to try. They have so much 4K I don’t have the drive space.

The paradox is that it must solve money first. The original intended usecase is not only the best, but it is a prerequisite to higher order use cases.

Think of the money supply layers, “M0, M1, M2” and so on, and what they mean.

Smart contracts are an “M1-M2+” problem solver. But M0 still isn’t solved.

In other words, having stock markets or NFT housing chain of title will always fail if the money usecase upon which it stands is still fallible. Ethereum put the cart before the horse. Bitcoin or Bitcoin Cash, “dumb” M0 solutions, have to be widely useful for the rest to work.

Is there a master guide for Jellyfin setup from hardware to software? I am having trouble finding something as a server novice who wants to set it all up for my home.
