Requirements for immich

Other notable resources:

Hardware accelerated Machine learning requirements

Hardware accelerated Transcoding for videos

You’ll need a stronger CPU (or maybe multiple since you can run machine learning multiple machines) handle the load if not using a supported discrete GPU. Also for transcoding videos if you want to do that you’ll have to look at compatibility of the CPU with what it can encode/decode and what format you want to store.

That being said , it barely use CPU resources with immich 99% of the time with the exception when media is backing up to it.

The client sets up its transcoding profile (like what it supports for direct play, etc for auto transcoding) or the client has to specifically request a different quality. Findroid has had PRs for the second one and I did one of them updating based off the older PRs.

This is because it doesnt support transcoding. It does direct streams only.

There are forejo runners and they seem compatible with a bunch of github actions. I created one that builds a docker image and publishes it on the repo.

Lidarr to download music, has Spotify playlist integration, only problem is it pulls by alblum not by song.

LMS to play music, it supports selecting tags to use.

Picard to tag the music. Kinda optional, but using plugins it can pull genre, moods, and BPM, which I liked using to make a smart playlist to get songs I like the sound of without 100% hand picking out of thousands.

The only time I use caddy is to serve static files… I then put a nginx proxy in front of it to expose it lol

I imagine your income tax would be a efficient method just gotta time opening the genie during tax season.

I am really glad I bought old NUCs instead of the latest for my self hosting. That being said, I wonder if this is going to cause the market to flip and the old generations to temporarily be more expensive while 13/14 generations tank?

There exist tools for this from takeout archives already, its how I migrated to immich.

I ordered 5 of these when I saw they are finally available. I probably won’t use them until pikvm is ported to it, there is a lot of talk about the firmware being closed source currently.

It requires a certain security software installed on windows. Yes it is still going on since IT admins have to boot into safe mode to fix it.

It just says you are unlicensed on the webapp. They also said no features will every be locked behind it.

There is a server license offered with unlimited users for $100.

Honestly I believe it. I had a VP of sales / marketing overriding requirements making them more difficult from the CEO after getting screamed at by the CEO who wanted the product (bono project) to be quick and easy for initial release.

He also ordered IT garbage for a site once (consumer PCs running Windows not server edition)

And to top it all off went behind supervisors backs in engineering departments asking for daily spreadsheets trackong their time because "if you can go to the bathroom you have time for this.

All leadership was toxic though like the CEO screaming at him lol.

Are you tunneling for just the 5g connection to expose your services or just tunneling everything?

From my limited Raspberry PI experience I believe their single core performance isn’t great and synapse at least is single threaded. You’d have to use workers to utilize the other cores. If you have multiple pi devices you could also utilize workers on different pis and hosting postgres on one. Using only one, it would likely be quite slow like others noted.

Reverse proxy and letsencrypt. Doing custom certificates is more difficult and you would need to install and trust the certificate on all devices.

And the definition of “official” is so gray it could be anything and not anything! Gotta love vauge interpretations from what is supposed to be our finest judges.

Wouldn’t their ruling not apply retroactively? Or if he declares it now it wouldn’t mean anything since he isn’t the sitting president?

Sure but it’s another constant background connectiom instead of using something that combines them all into one (a push server). It’s great not using Google’s push server, but I’d rather something not eat more of my phones battery when it could use my own private push server that’s already running in the background.

https://caddy.its-em.ma/v1/docs/limits you appear to be correct it’s something else. Reviewing logs of Immich and if the images uploaded can be accessed would be good info to start with.

I see you don’t use FCM for push notifications. Are there plans fpr supporting https://unifiedpush.org/?

Edit looks like that’s a no, and ignored in bug reports and feature requests only on reddit. The email service got me interested, but not till unified push is supported

Edit realize OP is not them mixed that by reading the post haha

Are you using a web proxy? I am guessing it may be doing partials because of upload limit of the proxy.

The proxy you are using seems like a good one and if you are using auth on it you aren’t exposing the services under it directly, so the vulnerability would be proxy or your password to reach any potential vulnerabilities on the service. Sure there could be some crazy bad vulnerability on the proxy, but as long as your using a good trusted one and not doing some config to bypass their security, and updating it, you should be fine. Some people here think you could use vpns and such for everything and sometimes you just gotta share your services and going through a proxy service is a good solution.

From the link in the post it’s a reverse proxy backed by terminos which is a secure OS for kubernetes and is really good, so I imagine this proxy is also really good. So OPs setup is already likely fine as is.

You can transfer at any tine and keep the remaining registration time. The only negative is you have to pay the new regristrar a rnewal fee to complete the trasnfer, this adds nore time to your domain, you just would have to pay it early once. They often do deals for transfers especially around holidays.

I’d recommend a web proxy service. It acts as a middleman, public > router > port forward to proxy / tailscale > proxy forwards by the domainto the correct service (immich).

Traefic is a good starter one.The most used but more advanced is probably nginx.

For SSL, use https://letsencrypt.org/, there are a bunch of tools to do it and some are automated. They expire faster but are free. Tailscale is a vpn tunnel so the ssl part may not be correct and they may have their own thing though.

Also godaddy is like the worst, expensive, ceo has hunted animals that shouadn’t be touched, and I always had outages when dealing with them. Namecheap is good, cloudflare, and porkbun.

who would query null users though?!

The key is to get the mortgage before then when you are null your debt will be null triggering their system to automatically send the deed to your house!

So to combat our horrible privacy culture we should name everything null…

hi my name is null, null.

It’s also very easy to make it highly available and to scale horizontally.

Glad you found the issue! I fell asleep hard last night sorry I couldn’t be your rubber duck haha

If it is due to a sigle asset I imagine an error would log to the console.

My advice is start over at least temporarily. Use immich base compose with one mount for the uploads and test it before deviating from the basic setup.

Were you able to fix it? Mounting like that should work but it looks like docker isn’t mounting subpaths right.

What do the logs say? I’d check

  • proxy log for response code
  • l assume media is storing, if not check it
  • microservice not checking for duplicates due to some error

the more I think there are more unknowns sice there are a few ways it could be running.

Yeah I know someone who has a bolt and waited to get the new battery so they practically got a new car. Unfortunately I live in an area that can get lake effect snow and AWD is nice to get out of the driveway. I bought Subaru’s EV after waiting like 8 months. Ironically a year later I’m at 20k miles now lol
