Stremio uploads/seeds just when you’re watching the movie, and usually with a very small cache. On a 20gb movie maybe you seed 200-300mb, which isn’t anything substantial

Recently in Spain a small pub/bar owner had been streaming all important football matches through piracy to avoid paying 400€/mo for something only a handful of people would be seeing in such remote place.

She was demanded, sent to court, and won. For piracy, southern Europe is crazy good.

May I add, I also use Symfonium, it’s the best one by far, but it isn’t open source as OP is asking.

That said, the Dev is a good guy, and the app has 1 month free trial (without asking for credit card or anything)

It’s 5,49 I believe, single payment. Totally worth it.

That works, but If you are okay with that experience, I encourage you even more to give libretube a try

It’s open source, and doesn’t collect user data, and works in my opinion better than firefox+ublock on android

On pc firefox+ublock is great, for now at least

You know what doesn’t suck?

  • Freetube on PC
  • Libretube on Android
  • SmartTube on AndroidTV

I like revanced, but these are cooler :)

Until you hit a wall looking for some indie stuff and the only guy you find asks you for money lol.

But besides a couple of those, soulseek’s great, and usually people there try to go for quality, or at the very least will have the right metadata. If not, there’s a couple deezer downloaders on github that work really good, and an older one hosted in the internet archive I believe.

  • Mullvad: Very privacy focused, ok priced, very robust. Sadly they removed port forwarding not too long ago.
  • AirVPN: Good speeds, many servers, cheap, port fowarding.
  • ProtonVPN: Works well, specially if you like the idea of getting their services together (mail, cloud, vpn)

To summarize: It was a copycat version of CocoaBob’s GBA4iOS, uploaded without his consent, and on top of that, filled with ads and tracking user data.

First: This looks really great, awesome man

Second: Fucking great taste, I was just watching a two minute papers video when I saw this, Brodi’s awesome too

Worth it? Sure, but I’d try to grab a 2nd hand steamdeck instead, similar prices, but much more capable

It isnt the best one, but its cheap, allows port forwarding and its not sketchy as far as we know

Air vpn

Lets sue knife companies because someone got stabbed with one of their knives

Yuzu is meant to be another console, were lawfuly obtained games for the switch console can be played. If someone used it wrongfuly, its not yuzu’s fault. (Not that I pay for switch games, but that’s what’s stated in yuzu’s website and terms)

Either yuzu fights in court, or doesn’t do anything, or they take yuzu down and fork it to Zuzu or whatever they come up with

Been thinking about buying a similar setup, and you just pushed me into buying a “Chinabox

Let’s see how this goes, if It explodes you owe me a beer, and a pair of hands, and another chinabox (I’m not a quitter)

Download stremio, install the “torrentio” addon, and you’re good to go, search a movie and play it, it keeps track of half watched movies and series, has subtitles integration with opensubtitles, and supports tv android pc etc

If you have the money, pay for real debrid and you’ll get better reliability

Yeah, on pc yt-dlp is absolutely the best option, If I remember right, there’s even a way of downloading the high bitrate versions of videos spoofing iOS or whatever, but maybe this was using a fork of it

And on android, I used to rock youtube mate

I find this to be the case to absolutely every app, free versions being filled with adds, selling your data, trying to fry you with more and more dopamine intensive content. And then the paid version, which usually is overpriced, happens to be worse than a modified client of the same app but free.

Youtube for example, doesn’t allow you to download content in 1080, 1440 or 4k, 720 is the limit, for a paid subscription. Then you try revanced and oh wow, you can download 4k content for free, how cool is that?

And usually changing the interface to make it more addictive, forcing shorts on Youtube, reels on Instagram, making the base app worse so people go for the paid version, is why people end up with moddified clients/applications, yet the companies are obviously going to blame us, “pirates oh very bad, they steal content and avoid ads, why would they do such crime”,

Instead of wondering why their app is 4 times heavier than a couple years back, has 8x the useless crap built-in, and is priced 2x than a year ago. At least this crap has taught me to value actual well built apps by great people, in many cases, out of passion.

Props to Freetube, my greatest discovery last year, I can’t even express how much I missed using a useful interface for youtube, instead of what we have now…

Well that’s it, no-one should feel bad for using alternative apps when the actual company is the one to push users out of their apps with shitty updates and anti-consumer practices.
