I really need to move my CIFS shares to NFS now that I’ve migrated to linux for everything. It’d probably fix half the errors I regularly have tbh.

You can go to the terminal tab and just run the cli command.

Not perfect, but something to avoid needing to ssh in at least.

This might be a bit late, but from my perception Traefik has a touch more of a learning curve, but it integrates much better with solutions like Authlia/Authentik and Prometheus than Caddy does.

I might be wrong, I’ve never used Caddy, but that’s my perception.

So, at least on Samsung, the MyFiles app, the default file browser, allows for network connections via smb.

In my case, I use a vpn to tunnel into my network, and then just use the smb share.

It also allows for FTP and SFTP.

Right now my TrueNAS is virtualized and I truly hate it. It’s been a constant issue for me.

That said, I can’t afford separate hardware atm. I will be able to soon, but not quite yet lol

I don’t think this would solve your particular use case. However, SSHFS is absolutely amazing for remote smb share access.

I used it on my laptop to access my home NAS for years.

You definitely can. Idk why the commentor above you thinks its local only?

I have two severs I swap between exactly like you describe.

Technically I do, maybe? My home server is running ProxMox which virtualizes PFSense. My docker install is on a separate VM, but same physical device. Not sure if that counts lol

Good human?

But seriously that’s helpful info.

Was not aware of VSCodium! Does it still play nice with the plugin system and such?

I get the gist of what Opnsense is from the name, but what are some of the practical benefits for a small home labber to use it over PFsense?

Do you know of a good reference for using Traefik with non-docker uses? I’ve struggled to figure that one out lol

So, I am running ProxMox with PFSense virtualized on it, and I am having some issues with SSH and Ping access between my physical machines and the rest of the network. The two computers are running into an unmanaged switch before then connecting to the NIC port that is set as the LAN interface. As the diagram attached hopefully helps demonstrate. The only problems are running between the two physical devices, and from PFSense to the two physical devices. The physical devices can connect to the virtual devices, and they can connect to PFSense just fine via SSH and can ping PFSense, but PFSense can not ping back, and PFSense can not SSH into the physical devices. This whole mess is utterly confusing to me, to be honest. I still am very much a novice when it comes to PFSense as I only swapped to it about a month ago, but hopefully someone here will be able to help! Please let me know if there is any more information I can provide. I am sure that this post is a bit confusing, but hopefully I can clarify in the comments! Edit: Thanks to Starfer I fixed the issue! I errantly left Windows Defender on!

There do exist very very nice private trackers with robust communities.

There are a lot around, just do a search and you should find some!

Do you have a recommendation for smart plugs and/or bulbs that work well w/Home Assistant and have decent security?
