'We're Winning': Apple Formally Endorses Right to Repair Legislation After Spending Millions Fighting It

In a letter from its lobbyist, Apple 'urges' California lawmakers to pass the strongest right-to-repair law in the country.

I believe this is genuine support of the bill from Apple. Between Right to Repair winning in Massachusetts and the EU demanding compliance, I think Apple decided to flip the script. They would want to continue the illusion of customer friendly tech.

Wonder how they are going to twist this into somehow being even more anti-consumer.

Is it even possible for them to lobby a lawmaker at this stage of the bill?

Not even that, even finding loopholes or ways to sneak in the profit motive at the expense of the consumer.

On top of my head,

  • You can repair but really expensive through their kits, geniuses or at Apple store.
  • You probably can but really hard you broke it then you buy a new one…
  • Open it but so tricky it explode 50%of the time…
