At least on my machine, that link doesn’t work unless I explicitly change it to HTTP (no S).
(fixed – Firefox keeps trying to “autocorrect” it to a secure connection)
I have actually encountered those sort of potential differences between ground planes. They can indeed wreak havoc under the right circumstances.
