A new fundraising tool looks to optimize political giving for Democrats.

Does anyone have thoughts or experience with the fundraising site: https://app.oath.vote .

The article talks about it but I have not tried.

And the entire enterprise can be frustrating for donors who find themselves bombarded with emails and text messages.

Jesus Christ, this. I donated a to a lot of campaigns during the Trump years and I’m still being punished for it with a ridiculous amount of phone calls, text messages, and emails from political campaigns. No fucking way am I gonna invite even more of that shit into my life. I’ll donate something at some point, but I’m going to try to lump it all into a single donation to hopefully limit the number of people who think I’m a piggy bank.

It’s unclear whether this is exclusively endorsing Democratic candidates or not. I’d be more interested if it wasn’t exclusive to a single party.

It is only Democratic Party candidates.

im not even 1000% democrat but i think this is an awesome idea. good for them!

I think that sounds great for people who just want to support the Democratic Party in general. Its chief focus is on ‘impact’ of your donations.

I support specific candidates. I don’t want to give money to Joe Manchin 2.0 just because they have a (D) next to their name, even if it adds another Democrat in the House or Senate. That seat is just going to flip Red again in the future anyways.

I want to support candidates who are actually pushing the party in a specific (Leftward) direction, and that is explicitly not the goal of this app, which seems to be ideology-agnostic.
