This article is pointless.
These chat bots are generative. Yes, they generate fake laws and fake cases and fake outcomes. That’s how they work. Expecting anything else out of something designed to create is pointless and a waste of time. They aren’t designed to not lie. That’s so well established at this point I think the people doing this research on fucking chatGPT for law questions are either mooching funding just to keep a job or are bored.
If they trained a LLM on nothing but a dictionary, law books, and fed it case outcomes, it would probably be a reasonable tool for law offices. Make sure it only outputs indexes to real cases and real laws, and make sure that law offices have to legally follow up on and verify these things but I see this as an actual use case for these types of bots.
There still is a lot of nuance involved, especially for a layman who wouldn’t even begin to understand the terminology required to start the search, so a human lawyer would/should still be involved, but these tools would absolutely help speed up the judicial system and probably lower costs.

This game had everything on its side. All the youtuber who covered it the months before release were like “it seems too good to be true, but if it’s true it’ll be great”. Everyone wanted it to be good, everyone wanted it to succeed
I left Unity behind they they merged with Ironsource. I said it then, that they would become an ad focused company and engine development would be put in the back burner. I’ve watched that statement become the truth.
I left because even before that, they kept over promising features and then depreciating things and leaving users with broken systems that you either had to wrap up in boilerplate code yourself, or pay for an expensive plugin to make work right. When they MERGED (the article says it was an acquisition, but in reality it was a merge. Subtle seeming difference, but an important distinction for me), I saw the writing on the wall that this trend was only going to get worse. And it has.
He’s been involved in several of the big Unity scandals, yes.
This most recent event wasn’t one thing, it was a culmination of poor decisions. If Unity had been sunshine and rainbows all up until now, then the reaction wouldn’t have been so bad. It was the final nail in the coffin, really.
Since he’s been involved, it’s been fuck up after fuck up.
My only argument against your opinion, is that he actually has a trackable history of poor performance as a CEO and a trackable record of very bad monetization schemes. He’s the reason EA is the way it is.
This isn’t the first company he’s ruined the reputation of.
Granted, the board that elected him is still there. That’s an issue that will persist for a while.
So maybe this was just an issue during the beta but it would still connect me to LA servers even with my max ping set to 25. It would start out at 9 ping and during the warm up it would just shift to be 40s
I played a couple games today and I haven’t been forced to connect to any servers in California
So, tinfoil hat here, this is the military working it’s propaganda magic. They’re targeting gamers for drone operators (which isnt tinfoil hat talk, they are), and they have a history of working together with projects that paint the military in a “sexy” light (the most wildly know examples are Top Gun but its far from the only)
Am I wrong in thinking maybe this is just a way for them to help the game continuously make headlines to engage more players? Could this be on purpose and it’s just marketing?
The game suffers from server inconsistency
When on LA servers I lose. When on Atlanta servers, I top frag and pop head shots like crazy.
There’s no way for me to manually decide to never be placed in California servers when I live 2000 miles away.
Maybe the larger player base will make a difference for closer games.
The saturation doesn’t look any different to me when on my own machinr, the streamer may have changed their color settings on their GPU for a number of reasons. Visual clarity can be important for seeing targets quickly, as well as maybe wanting to stand out when scrolling in a feed so viewers see their stream stick out?
I think this is because there is just such a vast amount of information that as humans, each of us individually can only know so much of, and it creates a bit of an imposter syndrome to know how little you know, so many people feel the need to convince themselves that their little section of information is better or more important than other sections of information
It could also be the “well I had to spend years learning how to do what I do and you’re using a tool you learned in 2 days so obviously it’s not that easy and something HAS to be wrong”
I see that particular issue as the same as sending a spaceship to colonize a planet many light year away, but when they get there, there’s been an established civilization for hundreds of years because they developed a better system of travel after the first one left. Same thing, person B got to the game later, but got their goal first, so person A thinks B isn’t a real programmer because they didn’t have to grind and struggle with inferior tools and tech.
If you don’t add comments, even rudimentary ones, or you don’t use a naming convention that accurately describes the variables or the functions, you’re a bad programmer. It doesn’t matter if you know what it does now, just wait until you need to know what it does in 6 months and you have to stop what you’re doing an decipher it.

This quote is the most disgusting out of context character assassination I’ve seen in a long time.
I got suspicious because while Jordan does say things that women and/or trans people often find deplorable. I know that he’s a strong supporter of the poor (at least in rhetoric) and as a family man I assume of children as well.
The full context can be found on Spotify. Episode #1769 of “The Joe Rogan Experience” start from about 15:30. He’s the one that brings up how 7 million poor children die from indoor particulate pollution. Joe doesn’t believe him and gets a fact check, which eventually leads to Jordan sarcastically saying “Well, it’s just poor children, and the world has too many people on it anyway…”
It’s such an insane mischaracterization of what he said, you can’t take the article seriously. Probably would have to write off the entire website that article is from, honestly.
It’s not that they are good at addressing it, they’re they only group that vocally addresses it at all.
Young white men are a group, a large group, in the US and when then ONLY people saying “hey its okay to be YOU SPECIFICALLY YOUNG WHITE MAN”, their social media algorithms tend to lean toward that.
I’m pretty liberal because of my own life experiences, and my youtube feed is just filled to the brim with Andrew Tate, Walsh, Shapiro, Peterson, Jones, etc. I happen to find Jor Rogan funny and that’s about the furthest right I go, but because of that I’m can’t not open youtube and be subjected with this type of content that, more or less, targets my demographic.
Personally, I see it as a grift. To me, these people are just making money selling bullshit by the bulk, and young white men happen to both have money and no other ‘pick me’ iconography.
I’ve dealt with suicidal ideation and mental health problems all my life, and Peterson comes on and tells me it’s okay to feel emotions, but then immediately starts talking about how trans people will never be happy and should never try to transition. I’m pretty cognitive and can see its more or less book sales for him and he’s talking about an experiences he’s never had, but a 15 year old isn’t quite as cognitive nor has had the same level of life experience as my age group
