They didn’t even mention a specific model. Why would you say they need 24gb to run any model? That’s just not true.

There’s no dilemma. You vote for survival unless you don’t want to survive.

If a law were passed, infrastructure would materialize. Our freedoms cannot depend on the idea no one will step up to make money solving these “problems.”

Yes but they live in places that cost a ton, and then get fired with no notice.

I’d like a way to require a pattern outside of predefined locations or WiFi networks. Anyone know of a way?

Lockdown is great but if you fail to put it on then it’s open access for unscrupulous cops.

I should probably know what this does but I’m thinking I don’t. Could somebody explain?

And pirates are using hardware to commit their dirty deeds!

Maybe this is how technological society crumbles, one lawsuit at a time.

I program and those words reverberate.

You know they’re worried over the cracks exposed during the Trump years, right? How do you not realize that?

It wasn’t that long ago we were told to worry Trump was going to start WW3 by attacking Russia as one example.

No one ever said that. Ever.

You’re sort of missing the point. Two programming implementations are never the same if you rewrite them from scratch for anything but the most trivial program. It wouldn’t be a copy of the original and it would have a unique, if similar, implementation. It’s not as clear cut as you suggest (at least not for the reasons you suggest, but IANAL.)

What exactly do you think the US is doing that’s the equivalent of Russia having troops in Mexico? Hell if I can figure it out.

You sure very much describing appeasement. Russian officials have repeatedly let slip their desire to go further into Europe. There is really no difference.

And I’m someone more sympathetic than most to Russia’s, “we had to do it,” argument.

Wow this looks great. Amend an old commit dealing with a rebase? Sign me up!

First sit down and cry. Then pick yourself up and start following some of the advice here.

Why do I need to install this? Why can’t I just search online somewhere?

My sense is that this argument primarily holds for teams without thorough code reviews. For individuals or teams with good reviews, TypeScript adds little except for complex code or massive rewrites. I’m not saying it adds little in absolute terms, but that it adds little once you account for the overhead of using it.

This is the core thesis of the article:

It’s true that sometimes you have to write non-trivial types to convince the compiler that your data is correct.

That’s okay. Creating maintainable code with high quality often requires putting in the hard work.

There’s no real substantiation of the claim; just the claim itself.

Yes TypeScript is onerous but that’s just alright.

Maybe it’s true but it’s a weak argument.

I’m not happy with Vivaldi coming from Chrome. Are there any other good options out there?

Google is also about to force on Enhanced Safe Browsing which will report every URL you visit to them with no opt out.

It’s finally really time to change browsers.

I’m all for market-based solutions when they’re not obviously fucking people and endangering their lives.

I’m reminded that those who actually make the games don’t get that. They have overtime without pay.

Yes, capitalism fucks everyone every day unless you fight for what you deserve, usually for decades, and even then only getting half of it. It’s surprising that keeping this in mind requires reminders.

The person you’re responding to is basically making the, “steal a loaf of bread to feed your family” argument. It’s complicated by the fact that loaf of bread was already reserved for saving others, but it’s stupid to act like they’re a deranged person without a point.

The desire to not die is a strong one; stronger than logic.

Nonsense; this is the future.

Everything is shit in the future!

260° F?!

If that’s true, this would be a huge fucking deal. But most room temperature superconductors don’t operate anywhere near what laymen would call room temperature.

In what sense is this “opening a direct tunnel?”

I don’t think you really understand what’s going on here; or otherwise, I don’t.

I’ve used BOINC without issue for over a decade.

Commenting regex fucking sucks. There’s really no good approach.
