Do you want this social media to be for your family to use only with family members or for them to use with family and beyond?

Revolt could be good as a local family group chat if you like the discord style. You’ve probably already tried it but Pixelfed/mastodon/misskey sound like the easiest to get family on board with and seem like they would be good family social media platforms IMO.

Law maker enacts legislation towards a company. The company is able to comply but instead the company pulls the service or severelyndegrades it. Then when users are pissed off the company will point to the law maker and say “they forced us to do this”. The law maker then suffers the blacklash of companies service withdrawal.

Apple tried this with the EU usb c but eventually backed down. John deer tried this with right to repair. There are many cases where companies use these tactics to try and bully law makers away from regulating them and I think i know it’s legal and their right to do so but I find it gross.

I don’t think the law makers should be solving the “problem” this way but I also don’t think pornhub should deny service from an entire state because they want an an ID check implemented.

Game journalist are scum. They don’t play game they only attack people who play them. When game journalists are outraged about something it’s most likely because people are mad at a company and the journalists have to rush to the companies defense because they are paid.

Pornhub is only pulling out to punish the states for trying to stand up to them. In classic American monopoly fashion they go on the attack as soon as any legislation targets them.

Pornhub claims the reason is because they dont to collect government ID but Pornhub collects user data and understands who their customers are. Adding government ID to their data would hardly be anymore of a privacy invasion and it’s not like they are forced to store it.

90% of my steamdeck usage is ps2 emulation. Old games get so much battery life and they always have pause and no forced online making them ideal for steamdeck

A big sofa chair that wheels would be perfect. Even though my desk is empty and only has a keyboard, mouse I still like the space incase I need to solder or draw or store rubbish.

I love making things and trying to figure out new ways to improve my experience. So I spent half a day making my lounge perfectly comfy, big 60inch 4k TV, pc hooked up, controller If I needed but also mouse and keyboard. and I played for 30mins before I realized it sucks compared to sitting at my desk.

I’ve had laptops, consoles and a steam deck. Nothing comes close to sitting at a desk and gaming on my pc. I don’t know what it is I just like my desk. Even when I’m using the steamdeck I sit at my desk.

What is it that makes Adobe so sort after? It seems that most people just use the basic tools.

My bad. I swear I had seen articles saying Chinese cpus were catching up. I went back and looked at those articles and the articles basically provide 0 evidence or benchmarks so you’re probably right that there is a significant gap that isn’t likely to close anytime soon.

It doesn’t matter because China will get to that level soon. They’re progressing very rapidly through a booming research and espionage sector

Maybe Dusk? It doesn’t have a puzzle element like half life but it’s got fun gunplay and movement and the art style is cool.

I wish more people would care about monopolies fucking up the infrastructure of our internet.

There is already a deal that has been negotiated and signed off by Isreal. I’m wondering if the phrasing from the article suggest hamas has signed off on something completely different essentially resetting peace talks.

An official familiar with Israeli thinking said Israeli officials were examining the proposal, but the plan approved by Hamas was not the framework Israel proposed.

Finally after many many years I have gathered my friends together and played divinity original sin 2. The first session was very fun and we all had a blast. We couldn’t complete any storylines because someone kept aggroing every npc and by the end of the night we had killed every npc in fort joy and used about 20 rez scrolls and many reloads.

After we got out of fort joy and agreed to put our muderhobo ways behind us and keep a good standing with the traders. It lasted about 5s before someone threw a bucket at the lvl 8 skeleton trader and he killed us all. After a reload to previous save we managed to sell our loot and have 1 npc who doesn’t hate us.

Honestly beating that game at such a young age shows a lot of problem solving capability. However getting angry at games is a habit you want to nip in the butt asap.

Playstation controllers work for. I’ve tried ps4 and ps5 ones with no issues.

Beyond all reason. I stared a few months ago new to the genre and after 100 hours of multiplayer I still sucked I was the lowest rank getting flamed most games.

Now I’ve got 250 hours under my belt and I’m really enjoying it. Started doing 1v1s which sped up my progress as it forced me to address the weaknesses I’d developed from playing 8v8.

It is creepy on a personal level. But it makes sense for an influential nation like America to own their own media. From a national security point it makes sense because American corporations have to comply with the American government. This also extends to America’s allies who also operate in the space by as much smaller players.

I never said the us was any better. im very aware of the us influence on the internet. But there is a big difference between the us and China and say the us and britan or the us and (any small country that isn’t allied with the us but is to small to go independent).

Adversarial nations that are big enough to break free of FAANG company already have. Russia and China do not what the us dominating their social media landscapes. Why would the us allow China to dominates its social media landscape when they can ban it and supplement it with companies that are within their governments arms reach.

Im curious if you think it would be OK for ccp to own to own CNN and fox news and control broadcasting for hundreds of millions of Americans.

Makes sense. There is no way you let a foreign adversary control an app that serves 100m of your citizens emotionally charged shortform content.

That would similar to the ccp owning every major American news network combined.

Isn’t Isreal blocking all aid into gaza?

I am pretty sure they could sue for wrongful termination if they conducted their protest properly and respectfully. You can’t fire someone for exercising a right.

Would a union be able to do this? I feel like a union doing this would be just as bad but Google might hesitate to fire them due to union backlash.

Is it not perfectly fine to fire people who think it’s OK to come into an office and disrupt work for 9 hours and force law enforcement to be called. I can’t think of a single place that wouldn’t sack me on the spot for doing that.

I’m not fully aware of us protest laws but i was under the impression to protest you had to do it on public property. Seems like this is blown out of proportion because the writer agrees with the cause.

When I read they they were losing money per search I immediately thought of speedy Pete’s search engine. Which was probably British guy in his shed who would return you your search results because the search engine only worked for a few hours a day and took 3-10mins to get a single result.

That’s definitely the right way forward but I’m to jaded. People who brought the crew don’t care about this stuff and stopped playing many years ago and I’d be surprised if it still has 0.1% of the player base wanting to play. To me fighting to preserve the crew is like complaining about a happy meal toy breaking.

I think legislators are to old and unfamiliar with the gaming world to know how bad the situation is. They can barely understand right to repair and that’s a simple concept that their generation should understand.

I have little sympathy for people who buy ubisoft games. Especially always online ones like the crew.

I see discord is entrenched enough where they dont need to care about their users.

Actually a pretty cool project. Its smooth and works exactly how i would expect. Hopefully some companies use it and contribute money or code so you can keep improving it.

Dark souls 1. No other game made exploring the world so exciting. I was checking every single nook and cranny because the game isn’t afraid to give you good gear if you look. The combat can be frustrating but the further you get the easier the game gets. Also definitely follow a build guide if it’s your first ds game.

How sick does this game look. When I saw the big Skeleton and the two baby skeletons I was instantly sold.
