Many of the good private trackers have very active request sections too. Really obscure or old stuff may not be readily available, but with a decent bounty (if required) someone will probably be able to find them for you.

I’ve been loving everything from Annapurna ever since I realized that the same studio made Nimona and Stray.

The economy on MAM is mostly points based and you’ll generally get very little organic upload. You only need to download some freeleach stuff (or use freeleach tokens) until you’re getting enough bonus points hourly to meet your needs. Upload credit is actually very cheap to buy with points and VIP status isn’t that expensive either. Plus the community generally donates a ton of points to all new users - even more so if you’re at all active on the shoutbox.

If you don’t want to donate 5$ to the website you need to wait 4 weeks before you’re eligible for VIP, and a lot of content is locked behind VIP. Fortunately though after the 4 week waiting period its very easy to keep VIP all the time. Even easier if you don’t want to keep VIP all the time and only need it once or occasionally to download specific content. All VIP content is freeleach to VIPs and locked to VIPs only. This incentivises people to be longstanding active members of the community and not hit and run after grabbing one or two books they were looking for.

IPT admins will ban literally anyone for literally any reason, then tell you they’ll reinstate your account if you donate. This is their business model and they’ve been doing it for many many years. Aside from predatory donation fishing, there’s a ton of very low quality content on IPT. The kind of stuff that would be banned on any respectable private tracker.

I’m planning on getting some recertified Seagate Ironwolfs from SeverPartDeals very soon

It’s not just about the content posted by individuals though. The community and relationships built on a centralized platform are also at risk to a much greater degree than they would be on federated social media.

Well since nobody can name a tracker with any AV1 content, I will for anyone finding this post in the future.

As mentioned in the OP, LST.gg has an uploader, KIMJI, who encodes western cartoons, TV, and movies in 1080p AV1. I personally love the quality and file size of his encodes. There’s some other AV1 content there as well. Several WhiskeyJack encodes have been uploaded, although I don’t know where they originate.

I really wish I knew where to find anime in AV1 still.

Yea I’ve heard that grain synthesis can be tough to get right with AV1. I’ve seen people (that know much more than me) talk about ways to make it better though.

I think Av1an gets better results.

I do think that’s why people like it more for cartoons and anime.

I’m well aware of the tradeoffs. Besides, encodes of remuxes and full disks can easily be better quality than web-dls, and with av1 or HEVC can be smaller file size too.

Looking for private tracker for AV1 encodes
As the title says, I'm looking for a private tracker with a good sized library of 1080p AV1 encodes. I'm on LST.gg and there's a handful of uploaders and encoders there that have given me the opportunity to upgrade some of my library to AV1, but I keep hearing about how great AV1 is for anime and there isn't really any anime in AV1 there. An anime specific tracker would be great if they have a decent amount of AV1, but I'm also interested in general cartoons and live action TV/movies. I have access to a MAM's invite forum and have a well established ratio on several trackers, so once I know where to go hopefully I'll be able to get in.

How would you get through the install though? Are there any simple solutions without any graphics output?

What if I’ve never built a headless system and am afraid of not having easy access to a GUI?

MAM is a private torrent tracker with tons of ebooks. They definitely have a lot of magazines, but maybe not the most expansive collection around. They do interviews to join regularly.

Love everything from Brad Neely but haven’t been able to find this since reading about it several months ago. Thanks for reminding me I’ll have another look.

Yea sometimes I’ll exclude the .nfo from my downloads. Thankfully the tracker I’m on now disallows any files that aren’t media in their uploads.

That feature makes sense to aggregate search results from multiple public trackers, but if you (like me) use private trackers then it’s almost always easier to just go to the actual website for your search. Not to mention any automation software such as the *arr stack make that feature obsolete. It’s definitely a cool feature, but not useful for everyone.

Doesn’t Trash Guides prefer larger files though? Iirc if you just do everything as they recommend you’ll always be grabbing the highest quality stuff available, which is the opposite of what this person wants.

I’ve played more hours of The Long Dark than any other video game in my entire life. Steam seems to cut their playtime data after several years so I don’t have an exact count, but it’s easily over 1000 hours in this game and it’s still the game I’ll go to first if I know I have more than just a few hours of free time.

Do yourself a favor and watch One Pace instead. They have torrents of every episode (minus the filler) sorted by story arc on the website.
