snowfl has almost never let me down! Looks like it only shows the same ones you found tho

My man in here defending the Billionaires literally taking the food out of the mouths of our children. Who is the real thief??

I usually just search with 2160p at the end of my search string tends to work well, i use the search engine snowfl

Been using it for years, but i do agree it kinda sucks, and the giant cypto ad on the first screen is annoying. It is very easy to use, you can filter by top of day, week, etc and has a good search capability. I used to prefer btdb until that one got shut down, haven’t found a better site since.

Streaming HD videos with XDCC
So this post is to explain how to stream from XDCC directly, no VPN or torrenting required. Downloading is also an option since this uses [xdccJS](https://github.com/JiPaix/xdccJS). This method works on Android, Linux, and MacOS. It will *probably* work on Windows idk haven't tried it. For extra help running commands refer to `xdccJS --help`. # Android This has basically the same setup as the rest, but you need to download a couple of extra things to make it workable, mainly an x11 server/app (to display stuff). ## Required apps [Termux](https://www.f-droid.org/packages/com.termux/) [Termux:x11](https://github.com/termux/termux-x11/releases) ## Command to Install Edit: major update to the one liner which creates the termux-service, and allows the script to enable/disable the server. ``` termux-setup-storage; pkg upgrade -y && pkg install -y x11-repo && pkg install -y termux-x11-nightly mpv-x termux-services nodejs && npm install -g xdccjs && export SVDIR=/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/var/service && echo -e '\nexport DISPLAY=:0' >> $PREFIX/etc/profile && echo -e '#!/usr/bin/bash\nsv-enable termux-x11\nam start --user 0 -n com.termux.x11/.MainActivity\nxdccJS $1 | mpv --vo=x11 - && sv-disable termux-x11; am start --user 0 -n com.termux/.HomeActivity > /dev/null 2>&1' > ~/xdcc.sh && chmod +x ~/xdcc.sh && mkdir -p $SVDIR/termux-x11/log && ln -sf $PREFIX/share/termux-services/svlogger $SVDIR/termux-x11/log/run && echo -e '#!/usr/bin/sh\nexec $PATH/termux-x11 :0' > $SVDIR/termux-x11/run && chmod +x $SVDIR/termux-x11/run ``` Hit y if it asks, it'll update to latest packages. This will create a script that you can use to easily start the x11 server/app and stream ## Usage To use it, pass the same arguments you would to xdccJS eg. `./xdcc.sh "-h server -b bot -d pack"` note: this is passed as a single argument, so there is no need for quotes inside the args. Just make sure to include the double quotes around the whole string like example. I found [termux-services](https://wiki.termux.com/wiki/Termux-services) works well for enabling/disabling the termux server. I updated the command above to take advantage of sv # Other Systems For Mac: Download [Brew](https://brew.sh/) to install these packages on command line. 1) Install [nodejs](https://nodejs.dev) and run `npm install -g xdccjs` 2) Install [mpv](https://mpv.io/) cli ## Usage To watch a video simply use a command like `xdccJS -h server -b "bot" -d pack | mpv -` I won't get into how to find packs/bots/servers as I am lazy, but thats the gist. If anyone has any issues, email the devs, I just figured this out meself.

I usually look on redditsports stream or a similar aggregator site, one of the links is usually decent enough

Another option is to download Kodi and use an addon for live sports, like The Loop or Mad Titan Sports

But thats not the /c/

It should be FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH

!freemediaheckyeah@lemmy.fmhy.net

Would be the link

The code is available as an xml in the release section. Since its Tasker “code”, the xml has all the details in it. I had just uploaded it quickly, wanted an easy way to share it, and accidentally uploaded the apk and xml in the wrong order lol.

Edit: I put the xml in the main repo now, if you want to read it more easily use Tasker to import it, but it is mostly human readable directly from github.

Tasker kid apps can be read by opening them as zip files and reading assets/kid/data.xml but i don’t want to appear as if I’m hiding something, so I had added the xml last night, albeit in a bad spot!

Another option is to just use Termux and xdcc manually, all you need are the pack #s and the bot name, my app is just to make automation and to search then download easier than the subsplease site. Mine also shows a notification for download progress :)

Sunxdcc can be used to find packs for non-anime stuff, but I have had little luck downloading from the sunxdcc api reliably

Anime on android
I made a basic Tasker routine to automate downloading from the SubsPlease site using xdcc. You can also browse and search titles found from subsplease. Tasker itself is not required to use this apk, but all the limitations of a [kid app](https://tasker.joaoapps.com/userguide/en/appcreation.html) apply. Termux and Termux:Tasker are required to be installed as well as the [xdcc](https://pypi.org/project/xdcc/) project. Let me know what you think and if there are any issues!

Been using dnsforge.de along with ublock origin on fennec. Seems to work well enough, but I might go back to personalDNSfilter to block ads with local VPN if i notice anything slipping through

Its not as common as torrenting, so less stuff is uploaded to it. Also download speeds are dependent on the bot, so some dls can be pretty slow

Its an old school chat protocol. You can try it for yourself kiwiirc is a website that lets you chat with IRC. You need to pick a network, Rizon is a good network to start with. There are a bunch of different commands you can use but the only ones i found useful are /msg to send a message and /join to join a channel.

For the downloading part you need a client that supports XDCC, and then you can use these commands with your bot of choice

If you have ever heard of IRC it uses that network to directly send files to you. Basically you need an IRC client then you message a bot for the file(s) you want it to send to you. There are xdcc search engines like sunxdcc and you can usually find books, audio, anime, etc.

Does ViMusic/Spotube count? They’re alternative youtube music/spotify front ends with no ads. If so, then I’d say piracy is still going strong!

Yes, you need some way to hide your IP when torrenting in the US unless your ISP doesn’t care about copyright letters. If you don’t want to use a VPN, a debrid service or I2P are other options as well that can hide torrents from your isp. Another option is to not torrent and stick to ddl and streaming

Just want to mention that IRC piracy also works very well for anime. subsplease.org/xdcc and nibl.co.uk for more. It was pretty easy to setup an automated download as well, on android i had Tasker create an automated xdcc request when a new anime aired through termux and xdcc-dl. On PC theres XDCC-AutoDL, much easier lol.

Real-Debrid is a paid service, but for ~ $3 a month you can get much more reliable results from Kodi and its plugins. Basically it has the torrents downloaded on its servers and sends you a streaming link so you don’t need a VPN or anything. Imo its worth it no doubt. Been using it for a few months now worth every penny! Movies/Shows are easy to find in most cases.

For anime i’ve found it easier to add the shows manually from subsplease or nyaa using the Unchained app on android

All will only show the federated instances, he would have to manually search and subscribe if he wanted to see anything iirc
