And even if they do give the account holder’s information to the requesting law firm, courts have ruled that an IP isn’t a person and if you want to bring suit against a person, the rights holder needs to identify an individual responsible. Lawyers know this and don’t generally take cases like that, too.

This didn’t happen to OP, and it isn’t recent - look at the report date.
This happened back in 2021 and apparently blew up on Reddit and Twitter, causing OpSec to release a public statement that claimed that the DMCA notice was a fake.
