Enjoying this quite a lot, even more than the “unofficial” way of doing it on Classic servers with an addon.

It feels like, for the first time in a VERY long time, an actual game with slightly more to it than getting a purp that’s +2 iLevel from your last purp, so you can grind another one that’s +2 iLevel from that one.

Isn’t there a quest in Black Rock Mountain where you actually had to die? Also does this makes resurrection/reincarnation again worthless?

I read that any NPC/Quest that required this before will now be visible to living players. I think in the case of the BRD one, the NPC will himself appear as a ghost to living players.

I’d be down for something like this on a PVE realm where your own actions are typically what lead to your death. I’m less enthusiastic on a PvP realm with permadeath but I understand the current version isn’t for me and that’s okay too.

Yeah pvp has, effectively, been completely disabled. The ONLY way it flags is if you manually enable it - even the quests that would auto-flag you won’t.

Did they also revert the change where most hostile NPCs would automatically flag you on agro? A long time ago you could run through towns without being flagged, and NPCs could kill themselves by attacking players that had some sort of damage reflection without the player becoming flagged.

Afaik no, you’ll still get flagged from NPCs but I’m also not going to go test it :)
