Here’s a transcription. I’d really recommend people actually read it before commenting.
Dangerous times. Glad a good man is behind the desk.
Really wish he had mentioned solidarity with fucking PALESTINE as well. We as a nation can support Ukraine against Putin, Israel against Hamas, and Palestine against Israel and Hamas, all at the same time. It isn’t that wild of an idea.
To quote the speech that you evidently did not watch or read:

Thank heavens for having a sane leader.
Hopefully Biden can now walk the walk to get Israel and Hamas leadership to get out of their own asses.
Yes, he lays the blame of what’s happening to the Palestinians squarely at the feet of Hamas, and not at Israel too.
He accuses Hamas of using them as human shields, but ignores that someone is choosing to drop bombs on them anyways.
He is erasing the decades of Israeli government and settler violence, occupation, and resource starvation of Palestinians and their land, that drives them into Hamas’ arms.
There are 2 evil groups at play here, but he is only condemning one.
Ive not heard Palestinians of Gaza say bad things about Hamas.
To their defense, it’s not exactly a safe idea to hold an anti-Hamas rally. Polling, as unreliable as it is in areas like Gaza, generally shows majority, but not absolute, support for Hamas, and it’s of course a completely different picture in the West Bank.
@Rapidcreek @theangriestbird i saw some numbers somewhere that the majority of them would rather have Hamas than no defense against Israel, but they’d rather have someone else than Hamas.
Rock and a hard place, it’s very similar to the situation the people of Afghanistan find themselves in, if you are living in Kabul, yeah the Taliban aren’t sunshine and rainbows, but you are pretty happy to see them swoop in when ISIS shows up. (I’m not equating ISIS and the IDF directly for the record, but you can see how from a Gazans perspective the IDF poses a similar threat at times)
Because the ones that do aren’t saying it out loud so they can be found. Hamas isn’t exactly a free speech advocacy group.
