Back in January, Tango Gameworks and Bethesda released one of my favorite games of all time with Hi-Fi Rush. As someone who adores character action and rhythm games, blending both together seemed like a perfect fit for my taste, but Hi-Fi Rush did so much more.

That game had no right to beat DSR for sound design.

The entire game of Hi-Fi Rush was amazing audio design.

It was a gimmick. Execeptionally Well executed gimmick? Yes. It took creative vision and the commitment to see it through and that is important, But DSR is just on another level. It’s like Ozymandius VS Dr Manhattan.

They’re going for different things, so it’s not even apples to apples, but if any game had a right to beat <the one you think you should have won>, it’s probably the one that revolves around its sound design.

This game was it’s year’s sleeper hit for me. It really is good, despite the story being a bit cheesy at times.
