I have Netflix, and some shows you can actually still buy episodes of. Which is what I prefer. I don’t like this subscription model, or losing access when the WiFi stutters :/

I’d say it’s a service issue. I can see a trailer for a movie and have no idea where to watch it. And there’s a tonne of places to check where it might be. And even then, they all have their own app? building? payment plan? device requirements? style?

Then there’s the seven seas, nice and consistent

Yea, I can pay 7 different services 10$ a month just so I can keep access to the tv shows I like. And pay another 10$ a month per service if I want it in decent quality. And install 7 different slow af apps to use them… and I’ll have to hope they just darn cast to the tv this time.

Aw dangit my show isn’t on Netflix… Hulu? no, amazon prime? ah Disney+ perhaps? Ow wait no I have to sign into the tv for that one, where’s the darn remote. Oh man, they discontinued one of my shows, I was halfway through!

Oh hey, totally_royalty_free.mp4 is on this 2nd result on google. Adblock does it’s job, nice. I wish Netflix was still this convenient. Why can’t billion dollar companies work together?

I’m sorry to hear that. The position I’m in makes it so I don’t run into a lot of issues, I have to learn about these from people like yourself

Wait trans care isn’t decent here? I didn’t expect that. How would you get medication without a prescription?

Learning how to navigate the healthcare system here can be quite a drag, but it’s great once you have. I am kinda curious now tho what kind of care you’re not able to get

You could implement that on a chat, but I wouldn’t do that on a string

  • automated scheduled copies
  • syncing data to multiple machines
  • scheduled copy to the cloud (not particularly frequent tho)

Welp, I guess sandboxing a browser that has a sandbox might still be a good idea

Being direct is not rude, in my opinion. I don’t know why people need things so sugarcoated. Being direct, to me, is a sign of respect

It’s an edited image, but you are darn right. Proper communication is great

I’m not suggesting randomness or inconsistency, I’m saying generalizing is overkill. But you’re right, “whatever works” might be taken too literal by some

You’re absolutely right that depending on your autofill is not a good general approach either. Then again, you shouldn’t be guessing at these either

I’ve worked with changing conventions in different teams. In the end people are not going to come up with some name and whether it’s myOldThing or my_old_thing won’t matter much. Usually I just follow whatever the team I’m working with prefers

I don’t like to sticking to generalized naming conventions when autofill or intellisense is a thing. Make your names clear in whatever way you think works best, and developers still using vim can set up autocomplete using an extension or something

You can get 12V power dividers that plug into a 120 watt laptop adapter, if you keep your energy requirements down it saves quite a bit of space, noise and cost

It’s basically a vm without the drawbacks of a vm, why would you not? It’s hecking awesome

I’ve got a couple machines running Kingston A400’s well over their rated spec, those are decently fast and start at about 30 euros

Yea, I’ve seen that kind of humour in my grandpa’s movies sometimes too. Not my thing

I got that part, which is funny. The movie below tho, I don’t think is

On the photo you see a violation of rules listed as one of the reasons this commit is made. Because it’s at the top the meme creator is presuming that’s their main priority.

And they disagree with that, so they’re calling them a “park ranger”. I’m guessing they’re alluding to an old but common media presentation of park rangers being childish about rules.

I get the joke with that it looks a bit odd to put that reason at the top of the list, but their response I find more unkind than funny

Someone explained it, turns out it’s just not my kind of joke. I get it now tho

Yup, trying to rush to work just makes things slower

*bad managers

A good manager and/or team lead is great, but it’s a job difficult to get right
