I wonder what game stories benefit from a bit of challenge.

Like, I feel like The Last of Us benefits from a little bit of challenge to drive home the anxiety and cleverness of the characters.

I love the combat in the game. I think I played it on normal. I wouldn’t recommend anything easier. I feel like everything would die too easily.

Early Resident Evil games were essentially horizontal Metroidvania. Open world makes sense.

The US had virtually no one staying home.

Can you explain what you mean by this? I assume you mean people forced to stay home by the federal government.

It seems like podcasts are their main product now. And that should be staying for the moment. That’s what I listen to. I don’t watch their videos anymore, and I haven’t in quite a while.

I have no problem with them standing by that it doesn’t need any sales and is already a reasonable price. But saying it’s out of respect for those that already bought it is just a bs excuse.

I just finished Spider-Man Miles Morales. So I’m gonna be starting Spider-Man 2 soon.

I’ve seen ADL referenced way too many times as a legitimate source of information. That’s gonna stick with me for a long while.

I believe the original is just PS5 enhanced, similar to running it on a PS4 Pro. But it’s still a PS4 game running on the PS5.

I don’t know the ins and outs. But most games like that have an upgrade that makes them into actual PS5 games (like you can only play it through the SSD for example).

It seems more like a PS5 Upgrade which it never got before. AFAIK you can even upgrade for $10 if you have the original.

I’ve been play Theatrhythm Final Bar Line since beating Final Fantasy 16. Next I’m either playing Spider-Man Miles Morales or Stranger of Paradise.

Final Fantasy VIII, Half-Life 2, and Halo 4 were those games for me. Absolutely blew me away.

ABSOLUTELY! I do want to clarify that when I say that I question how severe it is, I don’t mean to minimalize it.

ADL has pretty consistently exaggerated numbers. So when I see 4000% increase, I don’t believe it. They absolutely include Israeli government criticisms.

But I do expect that there’s extreme increases, in the same way there has been increases in Islamophobia. Probably more. The incidents are real and cannot be ignored.

I just do not trust what the news is putting out when it relies on subjective information or an outside source. This has honestly been the sloppiest news I’ve witnessed in my life.

I’ve seen a lot of reporting on antisemitism increasing. And I’m sure it is. But shit like this and the fact that I’ve seen ADL referenced twice now makes me really question how severe it is.

Yeah, I do love Morrowind. It’s one of my favorite games of all time. But I’m putting Skyrim, FO3, and FONV above Oblivion easily.

checks which game is “best”

This list is 100% accurate.

I don’t think it’s for people planning on buying the disc drive. But it’s a nice way to avoid FOMO for anyone that doesn’t want to get locked out of discs forever (without buying a whole new console).

Plus, for people looking to save some money, it could be an opportunistic purchase if they find it for cheap later.

Hasn’t every other generation come with a price decrease and a bigger size reduction? This seems like it’s really just a new model.

The biggest upgrade is the SSD size. But digital is getting more expensive (but also has the disc drive option). Seems like it’s just not enough upside for anyone to get excited over compared to previous generations.

Infinite made me not care about the franchise. Which is impressive because I loved the franchise.

I had no idea. I think that pretty much explains the confusion then.

Why does it feel like every remake messes with lighting? As if making things brighter means it looks better. Halo CE is another that gets blasted for ruining the anesthetic of the original.

When I was a kid, it wasn’t entirely uncommon to get a big gift during a random holiday get-together.

But I think “holidays” is more of a generic retail term used to get people to buy more and feel less limited.

In the US, there are multiple holidays people get together for. Halloween (to a lesser degree), Thanksgiving, Christmas (or Hanukkah), New Years. Extended families will often get together multiple times for these and then not see each other again until the next year. Thanksgiving really kicks off the retail season with black Friday, but there’s also a lot of time off during the winter time from school and work.

It really is a season with Christmas at the center of it. A lot of our “Christmas” songs don’t even mention Christmas. It’s just songs about winter.

At least for the US, the price increase is just for digital version. And honestly, I’m certain the old digital had a profit margin hit in comparison to the disc drive version. It was probably worth it to lock people out of discs. This version will have a disc drive attachment option, so they’ve just given up on their all-digital endeavor.

Aside from that, $50 for 175 GB SSD isn’t a great value. The extra 175GB SSD is a significant increase. And for the disc version, that’s purely an upgrade.

Most of the extra size is from cooling. So it’s not surprising that someone could make it slimmer by messing with that.

It really feels like a FOMO relief for people who want to go all digital. Just in case you want to get discs later.

In other words, Sony wants you to buy digital and don’t worry so much about it.

Are you talking about the original Demon’s Souls? From what I’ve heard, there are so many QOL improvements they can’t really be treated as the same game.

Also, Ratchet and Clank made me happy to have a PS5 (at that time the PC release hadn’t been announced).

“Don’t underestimate his ability to play spoiler to one of them.”

I think we know which one he’d play spoiler to. Moderate Republicans know how to hold their nose because they’re supposed to. Democrats don’t have that strong of identity politics. It’s much easier for them to be convinced to not vote Dem.

This is especially true for the swing states that are going to determine who actually wins the presidency.

If Dems are oranges and Reps are literal shit. He’d be like a freshly picked mushroom.

It’s gonna taste like shit, it might kill you, but I guess you could say it’s closer to an orange than literal shit, debatably.

Caring for the people? Sounds like woke radical leftist Marxist propaganda (actual shit I hear on a daily basis).

The Republican party could stop trying to hurt people at any moment. Hell, I’m in a red state and our last Republican governor wasn’t too bad. But it’s all just hate now. And anyone who opposes that hate gets more hate from people like you.

I know. I’m saying the GOP would actually defend his actions and say there’s nothing wrong with it, because that’s what they do.

I understand not wanting to hurt the American people. But Democrats aren’t going to just pretend it’s fine either.

They would absolutely be calling the whole thing a sham.

I understand not wanting to give up power by ousting them in purple areas, for both parties. People’s lives and the trajectory of the country is dependent on which party is in charge, unfortunately. Which is sad in itself.

Still playing Final Fantasy XVI since release.

Getting to the end of it and I’ve really loved it. The Eikon abilities have really flourished throughout the game starting as supplemental to combat to being a cornerstone of combat.

Other than that, the story has been great as well as the subplots. I can’t express how happy I am with this game after the disaster of Final Fantasy XV and the all of the FFVII stuff.

Tangent: I LOVE Final Fantasy. Really liked XVI a lot, too. (A hell of a lot better than XV.)

But it’s funny, for the longest time I was the same way with finishing them. I’d usually get anywhere from 1/3 to 2/3 through and just set it down. I think it was some time between XIII and XV that I made an effort to actually finish them.
