Probably a good choice. Calckey sounds like an unmaintained spreadsheet software project. Firefish is better, if a little generic.

The thought of calling a bottle of wine a twosix is hilarious to me

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted. It’s an add-on for Stremio that enables streaming from a ton of different torrent sites.

I think you misread my post.

But if you watch some of his videos on NYC and moving to Texas he’ll opine on some of his other views.

It leaks out a bit if you watch enough of his videos. I don’t get the sense that he’s right-wing in a MAGA ultra-bigot way, he’s just very very libertarian. Loose gun laws, low-taxes, government stay outta my life kinda guy.

Not the kind of politics I subscribe to, but I don’t consider him to be a bad person for it.

Only issue I’d see with the WAN show is that a large chunk of it is LTT meta discussion. If you don’t watch/care about LTT that could get a little dull. Same with merch messages.

You say that as if the majority of minimum-wage earners aren’t, and haven’t always been, adults. Go read a book.

This is why I don’t trust her releases. God knows what she’ll put in them to try and get at her “enemies” during some psychotic episode.

Here’s the account, because I spent longer than necessary trying to find it in the article. mastodon.social/@dungeons

No I think its a bug with lemmy. Sometimes it will say your post failed, when it didn’t actually, so people end up hitting the button a bunch of times not realising they’re spamming.

Seconding. I recently got into Real-Debrid. That plus Kodi or stremio blows any streaming site (legal or not) out of the water.

Curious if those percentages are still true, Windows compatability has improved a lot in the past 4 years.

There’s an “Install” button in Firefox in the menu.

What’s your Twitch solution? Blocking Twitch is considerably more difficult than YouTube, every solution I’ve found breaks after a month or so. Best I can get is have it display a blank screen while ads play, but I still have to wait it out, which isn’t ideal.

I’ve loved Technology Connections ever since I saw his riveting hour long video on dishwashing detergent. I don’t even have a dishwasher.

I can’t read comments over there anymore, they’ve become some of the biggest bootlickers on the site. Moving to Lemmy was a very effective way to filter out all the dipshits.

Thank you! Its mainly based of this users guides. Not sure if its this one specifically, they wrote a few. I did change a bit playing around with mods and some of the graphics settings. I’ll update the post with credit.

I think the difference is you could use it somehow outside of a bank account, like with just a digital wallet? I’m no economist, but I don’t see any tangible benefits to this either. Having a frictionless alternative to etransfers would be nice I guess, but not worth making major changes to our monetary structure.

First I heard too, I found this from the Bank of Canada.

tl;dr Its not crypto and they don’t have immediate plans to implement it, but they’re exploring the idea and just completed a public consultation on it.

I sort of remember this. Keys in a sugar bowl was one too I think?

Before this link was posted I didn’t even know he was still around, I used to watch him like 15 years ago and it’s pretty much the same as I remember it.

This is good news purely because it means “news” and their atrocious comment sections will stay off my Facebook feed. I couldn’t care less about media conglomorates getting their buck.

So much irony especially coming from a piracy sub. You’d think pirates would support decentralized communities. It’s also just another example of reddit’s complete inability to understand how protests work; they’re supposed to be an inconvenience, that’s literally the point.

Oh well, I’m kinda glad a lot of them are staying there, there’s a noticable lack of toxicity here vs. reddit. I just hope the decent ones will make their way over.

I’ve got an Onyx Boox Leaf2. Pretty happy with it, it’s pricier than a kobo or similar, but not too bad.

Sure, is here is a zip of my mods. Also includes some cheats, and different FPS mods.

Anna’s Archive is great. Finding this was a silver lining to the Zlib shutdown. I have it installed to the home screen on my android eink reader and its pretty seamless.

Growing pains. There’s been like 1000% growth or something ridiculous in the past week. The nature of the fediverse will make it more resilient in the long term and the backend software is rapidly being updated.

You could also try a different instance, could be too much load on dbzer0’s server.

EDIT: I don’t think open hostility towards people having issues with Lemmy is productive. We should be helping people with the issues they’re having if we want to grow. There is a learning curve to this.

I wonder if RetroAchievements is open-source. Could be possible to clone achievements for pirated games.

Keep in mind that rif has been around since 2010, and the official app launched in 2016. I think the opposite is true, anecdotally I’ve noticed discussion of 3PA has gone down in the past 5 years. People used to talk about it all the time, I didn’t hear much until this controversy. Most redditors are not power-users, I don’t think many of them would know what F-Droid is let alone use it. I’d personally guess that 3PA usage is under 10%.

I think this change was mainly sparked by cracking down on AI scraping bots, and killing 3PA was a two-birds-one-stone side effect to prepare for their IPO.

There’s no way this poll is accurate. Just looking at the Play Store the official app has 100M+ downloads. The bext closest, rif, has 5M+. I think people underestimate how many casual users go straight to the official app and don’t care about any of this is.

Yeah, developers of new instances should probably edit that out.

I don’t think its a huge issue though, looking at that page the number of people who have donated more than $10 is like… a dozen.

I realised this as I was pulling up the bookmark “Wait, doesn’t Microsoft own GitHub now?” lol

I honestly don’t think they care, as long as people are using Windows.

I don’t agree with these views at all, but I don’t agree with the view that no one should use lemmy because of the opinions of the developers. Its an open-source project, just don’t use anything hosted by them. Like I don’t support the US military, but that doesn’t stop me from using the internet.

TOTK Steam Deck Settings
Since the subreddit got killed, I'll post the settings I'm currently using. I'm getting a mostly-ok 30fps, with dips down to 20. Definitely playable. Shrines can spike to 50-60 fps, which is nice. If anyone has tweaks to improve performance I'd love to hear it.
