The best part of this is that the AI could not come up with original content. All it can do is repeat what humans already output. I would say games journalism is safe from an AI takeover. Now we just need to get rid of the bot spam.

I agree that climate change should be our main concern. The real existential risk of AI is that it will cause millions of people to not have work or be underemployed, greatly multiplying the already huge lower class. With that many people unable to take care of themselves and their family, it will make conditions ripe for all of the bad parts of humanity to take over unless we have a major shift away from the current model of capitalism. AI would be the initial spark that starts this but it will be human behavior that dooms (or elevates) humans as a result.

The AI apocalypse won’t look like Terminator, it will look like the collapse of an empire and it will happen everywhere that there isn’t sufficient social and political change all at once.

The article was skeptical about this. It said that the problem with expecting it to revolutionize policy decisions isn’t that we don’t know what to do, it’s that we don’t want to do it. For example, we already know how to solve climate change and the smartest people on the planet in those fields have already told us what needed to be done. We just don’t want to make the changes necessary.

The article really isn’t about the hallucinations though. It’s about the impact of AI. its in the second half of the article.

I have the same job and my company opened the floodgates on AI recently. So far it’s been assistive tools, but I can see the writing on the wall. These tools will be able to do much more given enough context.

Yes, the second half is where the conversation gets interesting, by far.

That’s putting millions of people out of a job with no real replacement. The ones that aren’t unemployed will be commanding significantly smaller salaries.

The backlog of the PS4 is one of the single best backlogs of any system. It will take you years to work through that backlog and the games will be cheaper too since they aren’t new releases anymore. If I were you, I would take her up on the offer and buy the PS4. The PS five will be where the new games go, but those same new games will have a large price tag.

This describes me perfectly. As an example, I have had Skyrim since the original release and never beat it. I enjoyed playing around in the world until I went on to other things. I can always go back and play some more when I want. I like having a large world there for me to explore and interact with on my own time.

The guy has gone on the record stating that he thinks the war in Ukraine was not justified and was done simply to please the defense ministry. Who knows what he would get into as a leader, but at least with him in charge Ukraine should be less worried.

But Wagner boss said that the justification for the war is wrong and that Putin was tricked by the defense ministers to go into it in the first place. I highly doubt that they would continue a conflict they see no advantage to continuing. No, this won’t stop all wars but it might stop this one.

Putin has already fled Moscow to another province and some top leadership have fled to Turkey. They are moving FAST into Moscow.

There is also the possibility that it won’t be continued depending on the outcome of what the Wagner group is trying to do. If they go for a full coup, that could mean the war is over.

Diablo 4 was just released and it supports cross play and is a very good game that is being actively updated to be even better.

Yeah, I have to say Biden has been the most LGBTQ friendly president we have had so far. His marriage law basically saved my family a lot of stress.
