i’m not sure that i agree with this at all. Microsoft, itself, has been having issues lately, and i don’t think this is a Bing vs Google search thing. But i believe those issues are temporary.
Overall, the direction that Google is taking with its search engine is probably a bigger threat to Google, considering, i suspect, people really aren’t going to like it.
I know how you feel. I had to break contact with several family members during the 2016 elections when I learned how they really felt. There are a lot of people who I thought I knew that I can’t ever speak to again after the things I have heard them say. There’s more to it than simply their political views, but, yikes, that’s as the last straw.
I’m sorry to hear it, but that’s poison in your life. Lancing a boil is painful, but it’s the only way to start healing.

Your parent is in denial. They’re obviously not really so brain-dead not to know better than what Trump claims and the other garbage that they encounter about him online and on tv that supports him, but they believe it nonetheless because they want to. Because it supports their worldview. Because, over time, they’ve become so invested in him that to back out now would shatter their entire reality. They’re trapped.
But, as you have seen, for some, reality will slip through the cracks from time to time. The Herculean effort of maintaining such a massive, complex, and, frankly, ridiculous mountain of absurd and outrageous lies for so long is, honestly, exhausting. Nobody could be expected to even keep track of them all let alone maintain the mask 24/7/365 forever. Even Trump slips up and tells the truth when he’s blathering at his Nazi campaign rallies. Just yesterday, he admitted that he did, in fact, try to get to the Capitol on Jan 6 to attend the rally after denying it for over a year, lmao.

One can hardly be active in GOP politics today without having committed at least a few thousand federal crimes. Skating past indictments and, certainly, at least a few convictions seems to be a litmus test for “leadership” in their criminal cabal.
Edit: ironically, fascists of the past - esp Mussolini - hated the mafia, which the US leveraged as allies both at home and abroad during WWII (quietly, ahem). Then again, Russian gangsters are a lot more amenable to fascism… not at all coincidental the Ghouliani, is his “cleanup” of NYC Italian mobsters in the 80s and 90s created a vacuum that was immediately filled by Russian mobsters he was friendly with… as was his BFF Trump… who immediately benefitted from the change in ownership of all of the mod-run construction industries like concrete, steel, etc…

Personally, I’ve found it pretty great. I’ve watched the whole thing and am going in again for another binge. The ending is great. Knowing that it’s already been greenlit for season 2 gives me a lot of hope.

It does not say you should be intolerant of the intolerant while they’re minding their own business
it is a fallacy that the intolerant mind their own business. being intolerant is, itself, an active state, not a passive one, and one to be actively resisted. being intolerant involves choice, a choice to be intolerant. there is no “minding one’s own business” in being intolerant, as being intolerant necessarily involves minding the business of others and then making the choice to react to it.
so your argument is, itself, spurious for it is fallacious in its foundation.
