Try logging into anilist in a browser that has been installed as a native package. Then temporarily set it as the default browser and open Miru then try ‘login with anilist’ .

This worked for me.

Stremio with Torrentino also works.

Haven’t tried Miru, thanks for suggesting. I’ll check it out.

Is there an any FOSS application that allows streaming of lossless audio torrents, or just audio in general ?
I'm thinking of something like stremio but for audio. An android app would be great There are apps like Spotube which are cool but it doesn't have ability to stream lossless audio. Any suggestions ?

I have tried Buyvm when I was getting into selfhosting during the pandemic.

They were pretty cheap too, not sure about the pricing these days but you should take a look.

Hah… I used to search up an issue and see my own unanswered question on reddit as the first result. ಠ_ಠ

I only see an option to open the player in a new window. I didn’t see anything related to external players.

One thing I could try is to run stremio and mpv on a distrobox Archlinux container and see of it does the job.

Edit: can confirm that running stremio in an arch distrobox does work.

How do I play media from stremio in an external video player such as MPV
A couple of weeks ago I installed stremio from the AUR on my arch installation and it showed me an option to play the video in mpv player. I expected the same thing on my NixOS setup but it doesn't show me the option to open in MPV. I also tried with flatpaks and it also didn't have the option to open in mpv. As for why I want to open on MPV, I am using anime4k to upscale and sharpen my anime and I'm very used to mpv's controls. Does anyone know how to get this working ?

I have been putting this off for some time now as the RSS feed in qbittorrent was sufficient enough for me. (Also storage space is quite limited on my computer)

I guess I’ll check it out this weekend.

Yeah the UI is really good. On top of that it supports extensions from Aniyomi and Mihon too.

Although, from my experience the manga reader could use a bit of tweaking as it’s a bit janky (compared to tachiyomi, Mihon and kotatsu)

Thanks, I didn’t know about this one. Looks like a fairly big project judging by the stars on the github repo.

I have used cloudstream in the past for watching TV shows and Movies. I remember that some sources were just not loading the video for me.

Do you have any preferred sources that you use in cloudstream ?

What’s the best Anime watching app available for android currently ?
This is [crosspost](https://lemmings.world/post/5590927) from animepiracy

Can confirm it’s working. Backup from tachiyomi J2k restores successfully in Mihon.

This has been my main issue with Kotatsu and Mangayomi.

I’m trying to decide between Dantotsu , mangayomi and kotatsu right now.

R.I.P tachiyomi, I have used it for years. Kind of sad to see it go. Are the forks also abandoning development ? I have been using the TachiJ2k fork for the past 3 years or so.

I guess I will be shifting to kotatsu soon.

There’s this Indian ISP called Jio. They have internet plans that bundle 14 or 15 Streaming services. These are mostly streaming that are only avaialble to that region. At least that way people don’t have to go through the hassle of managing every single subscription.

I’m personally happy with sailing the seas, not that I have time to watch all this content anyway.

Has anyone had any luck with Dodi repacks on Linux ?
So I downloaded Dodi's Sekiro repack and installed it through bottles, but the game does not launch. Also tried adding the exe file to Heroic, gave me the same result as Bottles. On windows, I remember this exact repack working perfectly. So maybe they way I installed it in Linux is causing the issue ?

On android I’m currently using Libretorrent, how does biglybt’s android app compare to it ?

Yes Aniyomi is safe to use.

You may also like saikou. It has fewer sources compared to aniyomi but it’s a good app, especially if you prefer to use anilist.

Libretube is what you are looking for. It uses piped api. It’s also available on F-droid.

Newpipe or Newpipe X Sponsorblock is also a good option.

Its a meta search engine that you can configure. It’s also selfhostable.

I wish fairphone was avaliable in some Asian counties at least.

Thanks. I am aware of other instances, but my friends and family don’t understand the point of it. Anyways… I’ll see if I can get them to try other instances of Jisti.

This is indeed sad news. I made my friends (who don’t care about free software) switch from google meet to jitsi for video calls just the other month.

The only thing that got them sold on jitsi was that it required no login.

Is there any way to use org roam in vim ? I’m interested in trying it out.

I have been using an android app named orgzly and have found org-mode to work just as good as markdown for me. For markdown I was using an app called Markor.

You could try Proton, but I am not aware if they are offering any online office web apps.

Oh no… I just bought a domain for my friend from there, only a few months ago.

I should’ve used namesilo or porkbun instead.

I just use Cloudstream on my phone. I wish there was some way to use it on TV as well.

I was using mullvad for a few months and noticed that a lot of websites I wanted to use were not working for me. Plus they removed port forwarding.

Since then I have been looking for alternatives.

Currently I’m considering -

  1. Airvpn
  2. Azirevpn
  3. PIA

Pia seems to have a really good deal for the 3 year plan. This particular plan is so cheap that other providers prices seem ridiculously high. I have not heard much good things about PIA, so I still havent bought it.

I have generally heard a positive response on Airvpn.

Don’t know much about Azirevpn.

Are there any cheap yet “not shitty” vpn providers that you guys suggest ?

Where do you guys download pirated android apps from ?
I know one shouldn't be installing apps from shady sources, but what if I just want to try out and app before actually purchasing it from the play store. Are there any good sources to download from ?

I don’t think this feature will be anything like reddit or lemmy. But I do see what they are going for.

Unless they have something like AI powered moderation, it will turn into a shit show really quickly.

I’m curious, does it allow browsing without an account ?

I have used something called barinsta in the past, but it is no longer working.

xManager is a must use for me. It’s like vanced for Youtube.

I’d also suggest Linux Mint if you are just starting out. In fact, it’s still a great distro for advanced users as well. I use it as a fallback distro sometimes.

You could also check out Fedora or rather a gaming optimized fork of Fedora named - Nobara Linux.
