Must be nice having one or those free computers running on free electricity with free internet.

As a non American I’ve never understood the primaries concept either. I get how it works but I’ve never seen it anywhere else in the world. So I don’t think it’s that big of a deal having the party leadership decide their candidate.

Sorry I honestly don’t understand the point you’re trying to make. Probably because I haven’t had my coffee yet.

Can you give me an example of what you mean eg a better headline?

Yeah I was just in Utah for business and didn’t even realise there was a block. I didn’t go to pornhub but all my regular sites just worked. 🤷‍♂️🍆

That’s untrue. I specifically bought it for h265 decoding. Which it does have in hardware. I play h265 content exclusively and never had an issue. Even 80~100mbps blue ray UHD rips. And because it has gigabit ethernet there’s never any buffering issues either from my NAS.

What’s missing in the shield? I have a gen 1 and it still plays anything I throw at it. High bitrate HDR 4k video etc.

20% torrent and 80% stremio with real debrid.

Stremio and RD is just so easy. Torrent for anything I really want to keep forever in very high quality.

Pretty sure I saw an article last week when it rolled out that it’s USA only. Haven’t seen it in Australia yet either.

Didn’t watch the video but I’m guessing greed?

I was surprised to read last week that the average age of the mostly volunteer army up to now is 43.

Yes unfortunately some were hit too many times with the stupid stick as a form of child rearing. The rest of us learnt to code BASIC to pass the time as latchkey kids.

Easy Gen X pass. I actually think Gen X would be able to pass all generational captchas. We’re the first “microchip” generation and have generally kept up and lived through most of the tech fads and changes.

We’ve gotten too soft on this stuff. I’m old and I remember as a kid in the 80s we’d occasionally all get lined up at school and vaccinated with something. Pretty sure our parents weren’t asked for permission.

Surely this will just devolve into “no reviews ever”.

Oh I can see your problem: everyone is still waiting for JIRA to load.

How can they sue you if they literally say they don’t oppose the use of this pirated serial and it’s okay to do and the software will continue working?

If anything if you agree to this you can sue them if they ever disable this key because they agreed to accept it.

Do you even know how contracts/agreements work?

We’ll they’re screwed because they can’t drop the cost to fix it. If they drop the price their revenue immediately dips by the same amount.

Just wanted to say great comment. And sounds very similar to our situation in Australia too.

This is extremely cool.

Because of the federated nature of Lemmy many instances might be scanning the same images. I wonder if there might be some way to pool resources that if one instance has already scanned an image some hash of it can be used to identify it and the whole AI model doesn’t need to be rerun.

Still the issue of how do you trust the cache but maybe there’s some way for a trusted entity to maintain this list?

I run it on the NVIDIA shield which is an Android TV box. Just install the app from the Play store.

Few years back around Dallas Buyers Club there was a big crackdown and ISPs brought in this 3 strikes rule. People got some letters and warnings.

So I’m not sure what it’s like these days but why take a chance?

I’m subscribed to 4 different streaming services and it’s still not everything. Also I’m not giving Rupert Murdoch a cent for all the damage he’s done to Australia. And Foxtel is owned by him and the only way to get any HBO shows for instance. And even if you paid them they only do 1080p.

It’s not about the space. It’s that it’s just like Netflix. You browse and see something and play it directly. There’s no planning needed… Even if that is as simple as a quick search on radarr. And no waiting for the torrent to finish even if it’s usually less than 10 mins.

Instant gratification.

I’m in Australia and no VPN for stremio because I use real-debrid. As I understand it I’m just direct downloading from there. If I didn’t have RD and had to torrent for stremio I’d use a VPN for sure.

No I built it. It’s in my garage in a server rack. I lucky to have gigabit fibre internet.

I have a pretty advanced setup. Big dual xeon server with 40TB of drives. Dockerized everything running radarr, medusa, deluge, jackett, vpn etc. I’m a pixel snob and love the 4k remuxes with lossless Dolby sound for my Atmos speaker setup.

BUT I read about stremio toreentio and RD a few times here in this community and thought I’d install it on my NVIDIA shield.

And we use it ALL THE TIME!

It’s just so easy even for someone with my hugely automated setup.

It’s perfect for anything you’re probably only going to watch once.

The Sopranos, The Wire, Better call Saul… Yeah download it cause I rewatch it often.

Fboy Island or whatever guilty pleasure reality tv garbage… Stremio it is.

1917 or The Godfather. Download highest quality. Legally Blonde for movie night with my daughter … stremio.

It’s a great little app and setup.
