I didn’t realize Elon had Canadian grandparents:

Musk’s maternal grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, moved from Canada to South Africa in 1950 because he liked the newly elected apartheid government.

In the 1930s, Haldeman was the Canadian leader of a fringe political movement originating in the US, Technocracy Incorporated, that advocated abolishing democracy in favor of government by elite technicians but which took on overtones of fascism with its uniforms and salutes.

The Canadian government banned Technocracy Incorporated during the second world war as a threat to the country’s security in part for its opposition to fighting Hitler. Haldeman was charged with publishing documents opposing the war and sent to prison for two months.

I don’t like associating people with the sins of their ancestors, but Technocracy Incorporated sounds too silly to ignore.

That’s why Elon can vote in Canadian federal elections and allowed to make public political statements during a Canadian campaign for influence in the same way that any Canadian can push for any political party, so can Elon.

Is his primary residence in Canada?

Do you need to have your primary residence in Canada to vote in elections? Asking because in the US, I believe you can vote from abroad

Looks like he wouldn’t have to have a primary residence in Canada:

What eligibility criteria must be met to be on the International Register of Electors?

To be on the International Register of Electors, you must:

be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old on polling day be living outside Canada have lived in Canada at some point in your life

Then why do you need an address that is in a riding?

I don’t know. Ask the government. The answer is posted is from their website:

https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx?section=vot&dir=reg%2Fetr&document=index&lang=e#etr3

Again, why do they ask for an address? and why was I told I needed to have that address for six months as my primary residence to be eligible to vote?

I don’t agree with punishing people for sins of their grandfather, but he Sig Heiled twice at a political rally. Any family and personal connections to Nazism has become inarguably relevant.

His actions are the stuff we need to examine and prosecute.

Any family and personal connections to Nazism has become inarguably relevant.

Sure. They’re worth talking about. But the bit that matters are his words and deeds. Like you said, he did sieg heil, and he has been doing weird shit with Twitter’s algorithm. He probably has more creepy stuff going on that I’m not aware of.

The whole fucking family seems to have chosen Nazism - his dad is also a fucking asshole.

His dad has kids with his step-daughter that he helped raise.

What

Matter of public record, reported on by several outlets.

Sorry. Let me clarify. I’m not doubting that it happened based on what I know about Musk and… breeding.

The what is really a “what the fuck? Why?”

He also studied at Queen’s University for 2 years.
