Does anyone else have have fond memories of Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance (1-2) ? I wasn’t aware that the PC games existed back then but I adored the PS2 hack and slash games and I’ll always remember the Elfsong Tavern from BG:DA1 very fondly.
I’ve been waiting to see another soul speak up about that franchise.
They are for sale on PSN still. I think for like $30 a piece because they know they’re still great games.
I bought it so me and my girlfriend could play splitscreen (which no one seems to make anymore) and it was just as fun as I remember.
The sad thing is no real end of game content but that’s how those old school games were. Get your character all bad ass and just how you want them, then roll credits.
I still think of that tavern song too, and the gruff sounding trader in the second game, with the long white hair and beard “Whatever you need, you can find, Right-Here.” Something about the way he punches that “right-here” tickles me lol.
Awesome man! I hope I can get my wife to play it with me. But yea, it’s exactly how console games from these times were. No complaining from me though. Do you also still remember looking at the end game cinematic from BG:DA2 and having your imagination run wild as to what that cliffhanger ending might mean and being hype for whatever that ending might entail?
Lol, that brings back memories. That face is burned into my memory. It was always so hype to go back to him and looking for new armour and weapons. I still think those games were way better than they get credit for.

I always played the dwarf in the first game but I also played the necromancer in the second game. Well, I also remember cheating myself Drizzt Do’urden for the second game and playing him…but usually the Necromancer haha.
She survived the fight clearing out the bottom floor of the tower, and then walked over one of the static placed spots of blue flames and died. I couldn’t revive her since she wasn’t yet joined to my camp, and I wasn’t in the mood to reload and do that fight over again. :/
I hit a difficulty wall in the Wrecker’s Cave and never picked the game back up. So far BG3 has been more forgiving, but Larian games don’t suffer fools gladly.
My sister said Divinity 2 has one, and another user told me recently part of the agreement to make BG3 between WOTC and Larian included a toolset (dunno if that’s true, tho). So I’m hoping that we get one. Game made me reinstall NWN just to make my own shit. lol

Stating that BG3 is D:OS3 is a massive compliment.
Honestly, when it first entered early access it basically was. Surfaces were murderous until they fixed them

Hey me too! I played DOS1, but DOS2 fizzled in first town. It felt too slow, or something?
I want to play BG3, but is my interest doomed?
Just wish it was less RNG heavy. Dos2 was still pretty RNG heavy but not as much. Then again I’m not really a fan of DnD combat.
Divinity is great
I couldn’t get into either one, and I’m scared to get BG3
