Seems like a poor dating ad. Don’t ever date a Java programmer. They will treat you like an object. ;)

this is a common misconception, although the may ramble a bit, they are very classy

They seem kind of slow, but you can be assured that they will always make time for taking the garbage out.

“Belgium nationality”. 💯👍

What a weird way to say “We don’t like french people”

Which is particularly surprising from a French company

Not really. They have to deal with French all the time, they’d know to avoid them. 😜

Is there some “you need x% of foreign employees” law in France?

It would be more likely the reverse

The job posting is for the Netherlands.

I don’t really get how “overt racism in a job description” is programmer humor, but alright

It probably has to do with security clearance, considering it’s Thales.

so why wouldn’t it be citizenry then?

Higher security clearances requires nationality because there’s a slightly lower probability that someone born in a country will share secrets than someone born outside of it.

You can be a citizen of almost any country without being born there, hence the statement.

You do know, what nationality means, right?

I’m under the impression that those countries are more convenient for the company, either having locations or it being more convenient to arrange pay or something, based on the inclusion of American rather than an ethnic background.

Edit also it says nationality rather than Heritage, so it’s pointing to what country you have citizenship with.

Can’t expect them to be fair to ethnic minorities when they’re too busy warmongering in Papua New Guinea.

Since they make weapons wouldn’t it be something about security clearances? Of course, I don’t know your dating life. That might require a security clearance as well.

It requires clearance to get to the secret rave inside the defence building.

Wasn’t France dropped by the USA for Australia two years ago?

I don’t think it’s the passport thing. The differences between European passports are minor, so in that matter you surely could accept all EU nationalities. If you really want the best ones, then Sweden, Finland, France, Italy, Austria and Switzerland are among the ones that bring you the farthest in the world, and those are not in the list, while Greece and Norway are less powerful passports, and the USA, Canada and Australia even less, and all of them are in the list.

Of course it could be one or multiple specific countries they want you to travel, but chances for that are low. Clearance sounds much more likely.

I also can’t figure out why their selection is what it is. But Thales is not really 1 company. Tacticos is developed by the Dutch branch (note that the location of this job is Hengelo), which means it is treated as a Dutch company for export control purposes, not a French one.

My guess would be that they have existing export contracts for new versions of Tacticos to these countries.
