A high number of disqualifications and suspicious statistics have put the entire 2023 Hugo Awards under question

The 2023 awards saw several nominees mysteriously declared ineligible.

The Hugo Awards are the annual awards program of the World Science Fiction Society (WSFS), which has been celebrating works of sci-fi and fantasy since the 1950s. The 2023 awards were announced at the WSFS’ 81st annual Worldcon event in October, held for that year in Chengdu, China.

I am beyond shocked.

China gets its feelings hurt so loudly. At least Russia is like, “no, Comrade, is nothing. Here, I made you some tea. Enjoy it next to this window.”

Quelle surprise!

Reading that, any winner of the affected awards, however deserving, should decline their award. This year’s Hugos are clearly illegitimate.

China? Censorship? Nahhhh
